Getting my new machine soon.....

Post by candlegirl76 » Wed Apr 29, 2015 1:24 pm

I dropped my Rx off (after making a copy for my records) at the DME yesterday and they'll call me when they get my insurance pre-auth done and have my machine ready for me. She did tell me when I got my "loaner" Auto PAP that when I got my forever machine I'd get the newest one with the modem so they can check compliance remotely for the insurance company. Pretty sure it will be the PR Remstar something or other.

Great news! Stay wary and make sure they don't give you a brick to replace the loaner...

Yes, I will not give them back the loaner until I have the new shiny machine in my hot little hands!

Finally got my actual, take home and keep, machine. So excited. It has data capability with a modem (3 months) to confirm compliance for insurance, until then they (ins.) are renting it for me. It also connects to the Sleepmapper app. So I will be checking how that works and see if it has enough info and data to satisfy the inner geek. The only fault I have with the DME is that the Dr. there was terribly slow getting the paperwork through, then having to wait to get prior authorization from insurance. I like that they are a smaller 2-3 person office, because I love the more personal, they know me, feel. So glad they gave me a loaner machine to get me started while waiting for the red tape to clear. My supplier said that my improvement with my blood pressure, depression and migraines is pretty amazing and that they don't hear many great testimonies like that. I guess that's what being compliant, being so desperate for a healthy life and wanting/needing to do the treatment to even function does for you. I am happy to say that I am feeling a bit more energetic and awake every day and it sure does help to not always have a migraine. Thanks again for all the helpful tips. I got the heated hose and an AirFit P10 for Her nasal pillow mask.

Karen
I'm getting my life back!

So, I've had my brand new machine and new mask for two nights now. My Fitbit activity tracker is showing that I haven't been tossing and turning as much while sleeping. I'm loving how light the new mask and it's short hose are. Uploaded my sleepy head data and my numbers look good, I think. However, I've had a headache. I think it may be from sleeping a little wonky because of having the new mask. I'll include the screenshots from sleepy head for both nights. So you amazing data readers can tell me if there is anything I should change, tweak, play with or adjust.

With my loaner APAP I had adjusted the settings to 6.5-18cmH2O from 5-18cmH2O. My current settings are 6-18cmH2O and I was thinking I should see how that data looks for a week with the new mask and new machine before playing around unless you have better hints, tips and tricks for me!

you might bump the pressure a bit, especially if what you had was working for you.
also, your links are broken, and imgur works much better for posting pics.
