I felt really tired at first too but the RT told me that it was because I was finally getting delta sleep which is deeper and so even though you wake up tired you are really more rested and will feel better during the day. I do notice I have more energy so not sure if that is what is happening. Hang...

gulp, I feel guilty for leaving it in there so long (maybe 3 months) but it still looks white. I wasn't worried about the expense but just fear of machinery and worry that I wouldn't do it right. I love this site for the amount of reassurance I get. Thank you to all for your replies. happy new year. L

Can someone tell me how often the little white filters at the back of the machine need to be changed and can you take them out and wash them or should I get new ones? Thanks for your help. Lana

I was told to bring cpap for post surgery. During surgery you are usually intubated but in the recovery room you need your machine because your relfex to start breathing again is not as strong after the anaesthetic. thats the scoop I was given. Also, sometimes when you are just having a day surgery ...

I used to use the pillows and had frequent sores on my nose. I tried lubricant and changing the size but it kept coming back. I now use the mirage activa gel nose mask and it has been much better. Hard decisions to make.

Cat in the zip lock sounds good. He weighs 20 lbs and he is not fat....just very huge and muscular so I dare not lock him out of the room. he throws himself at the door ( he is the boss). I clean my mask every morning (well the gell part) and I make sure it has no fur on it when i go to sleep. I als...

It seems like I have the straps pretty loose because i have learned that the looser they are the less likely I am to get a sore nose. It also is strange that I am ok for the first half of the night and sleep great and then suddenly can't get it to not leak. I appreciate the input and I will keep sea...

keeping machine near the floor

I have been reading about rainout and not sure what that is. (new here). After reading messages on here I have tried to set up my machine lower to the floor (I used to have it even with head). I find if I put it too close to the floor I have to sleep close to the edge of the bed for the hose not to ...

I had those red marks and they actually got really sore and I had to use antibiotic ointment to get rid of them until I loosened the mask. It feels really loose before it is turned on and then seals up nicely. It was hard to get used to leaving it loose but that seemed to cure the red mark problem b...

Sorry, I am just starting out here and tried to set up my profile. I am not sure if I chose the right equipment since it didn't give an option for my actual machine. I think they might be different in Canada. i will try to get the profile right. I usually sleep great and have no leaks so I am not su...

leaks in middle of night

Good morning, I noticed lately that my mask starts leaking in the middle of the night. I start off fine and then wake up frustrated by trying to get it right and this week I have just ended up taking it off about 3am. anyone else notice this problem?
