do you think the NSA reads our A10's data to spy on us?

Don't think you will get any dates with the NSA just because you are using an A10. Sorry to burst your hope bubble.

Well I would be really pissed if they did (but I doubt they care to do it) but not for the reason most people think.
My reason...what total waste of money that could be used to pay for some other useless or maybe real important spying job that might prevent something major bad happening.

If we really want to get paranoid about getting spied upon we would need to give up cell phones, internet use and no telling what else that we know we are being tracked when we use it.

Pugsy basically summed up my feelings on it too. I honestly can't think of any useful data that could come from monitoring and collecting random peoples' xPAP machine data, at least from a government/security standpoint. Now xPAP device and accessory manufacturers, sure, there is probably something they could learn from all that data, but that isn't who we're talking about. Now the NSA (or any acronym agency) targeting an individual, sure, it could be useful to them. Location data, sleep habits (as part of learning their entire schedule,) maybe even looking for a "bad night" in order to determine when to make a particular move. A little far fetched, but I could see something like that. Otherwise, it'd be spending a ton of money on completely useless data, just like Pugsy said.

I work in IT. I get people occasionally asking me "Can you read my e-mail?" or "Can you listen in on my phone calls?" I always tell them yes it is possible, but the only time I'm going to be doing it is because I see something that came up as a red flag in our normal operations, or I get a request from a supervisor to investigate something. Otherwise I simply don't have the time to go snooping through random employees' e-mails or phone calls. And even more to the point, I just don't care to do so. If I have some spare time, I'm going to be spending it other ways, like browsing cpaptalk.com or reddit. And I most certainly would rather listen to music than to mundane phone calls throughout the day. Long and short of it is, if you don't want me reading your e-mails, don't give me (or your supervisors) a business need to do so.

This is what Pugsy said in a previous post...I never tried it because I don't have an AirSense 10.

That remote access thing on the AirSense machines...you can essentially stop it from transmitting if you wish.
It has what they call "airplane mode" like our cell phones and when in airplane mode it can't transmit and the DME can't reach it.
Now every time you start the machine it will likely prompt you "you are in airplane mode, do you wish to continue" or something like that wording...and it takes only a millisecond to move on past it and deny it and thus stay in airplane mode.

Perhaps it might give them early warning that the Empire's Death Star is in the vicinity? Seriously, unless someone there is really into heavy breathing, why would they bother?

Since Medicare wants to know (in order to PAY for it) i'm fine leaving airplane mode off.
Of course, I have to reset "period" back to one day after they check my data.
