Re: Thunder storm season

I live in tornado alley (the Van, TX tornado was just a few miles away.). We have frequent storms and abundant power issues. All of my expensive electronic equipment is protected by Brickwall devices (http://www.brickwall.com). But, I mean EXPENSIVE stuff, as the Brickwall stuff costs hundreds, so I...

Re: Partially off topic: electricty and power surges

Very puzzling.

Charging circuit? Or battery?

Only getting an hour or so on the battery makes me suspicious of one or the other.

Could be the battery. It is certainly old enough to need replacement. Still doesn't explain your "only at my house" symptom though.

Re: info and guidance needed after 3 years of cpap

What she ^ said. (Robysue types 12,000 wpm BTW) Do you have software setup on your computer yet? You will need that when you start trying to read the data from that new SD card. Oh, and you have to have an SD card reader on your PC. And set the write protect slide on the card to lock before insertin...

Re: info and guidance needed after 3 years of cpap

Ok, great, can see your images on Flickr.

You are on CPAP mode, fixed pressure at 8 cm, with a ramp of 45 minutes starting at 5.

What are your questions, maybe we can answer some?

Re: Newbie - what questions should I ask?

(Robysue beat me to it, i would never argue with her. But I typed all this up, so i will post it anyway.) Welcome! Sorry you have to be here though. The link below is a very short intro to various types of sleep studies. I presume you will have the first one, the PSG. http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health...

Re: info and guidance needed after 3 years of cpap

Check your machine and see what mode it is in, CPAP or APAP. APAP mode will allow the machine to,adjust pressure for you as you sleep, within the upper and lower limits you set. CPAP mode will require you to increase the pressure yourself over a period of time. Both are perfectly viable approaches, ...

Looks pretty damn good!

Now, can you work up to 7 to 8 hours of sleep?

Re: Doctor says sleep pill will mess up the test

I DIDN'T take a sleep aid for my first titration. I did not sleep enough to get a valid one. I did get a sleep aid on my second titration (third overall sleep study, one diagnostic, two titrations) and everything went great. Wish I had had something for the first titration - that one was a waste of ...

Re: Doctor says sleep pill will mess up the test

That was a nine week trial, with twenty self selected subjects. It was a case study, was not randomized, was not double blind, etc. In other words it means almost zero. Only value I could see would be as an idea for some researcher to do an actual study. It was done eleven years ago. IMNSHO, It has ...

Sleepyhead is free, does everything you need and more, and works with your proposed new machine.

End.

Re: Swift FX Nasal Pillow Hurts....Tips or alternatives?

Does it feel raw or abraded? If so, that is fairly common for new users of nasal pillow systems like the sift fx. If it is raw or rubbed, get the Lansinoh as mentioned above, and use a small amount on your nostril openings.

If it is not "raw", I would guess you have it too tight.
