If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

I live in Canada. I have recently purchased a bipap from secondwind. These people are great. Service is very good; they know what they are doing. You don't need a RX. Very good prices.Sheffey wrote:These people will ship to Canada - http://www.secondwindcpap.com/jdip wrote:this stuff is crazy expensive in Canada, even to just rent. I don't have insurance and it seems like it would make a lot of sense financially to get a used machine.
Check out their gently used and new opened box models. I prefer ResMed S9 Autoset.
Make sure you get one of the experts here to give you the lowdown on a machine before you order it. You definitely need to be careful and under no circumstances order a "brick".
Many people minimize the dangers of snoring. Snoring is very bad for. In my case I am sure I have UARS and extreme snoring. The XPAP is a great help.
Re: No events with at-home titration. Why does pressure increase?
Thanks for the responses, all. If I do buy used, one thing I'm worried about is if I buy an APAP, but end up needing a bi-level for compliance for example, I'll be stuck with the APAP.
And did you have any testing done to detect UARS? Mine is still speculation at this point, but I'd love to hear what your experience/journey has been overall.
I've been keeping an eye on that site. By "brick", are you referring to a fixed CPAP? Because it seems like that's what the DMEs want to give me, since I have a set pressure written on my prescription. I would prefer an APAP.Sheffey wrote: These people will ship to Canada - http://www.secondwindcpap.com/

Did you have to pay extra brokerage fees or duty when it was delivered?Pesser wrote: I live in Canada. I have recently purchased a bipap from secondwind. These people are great. Service is very good; they know what they are doing. You don't need a RX. Very good prices.

A brick is a machine without full data. It could be a straight cpap or an auto (apap). Some straight cpaps have full data and some don't. So, you want to make sure you know which models have full data and which only have compliance data. If you have any problems and need adjustments, it really helps to have the summary data as well as the nightly graphs to see what is going on.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?
Re: No events with at-home titration. Why does pressure increase?
Thanks for clearing that up. I definitely don't want a "brick"!zoocrewphoto wrote:jdip wrote: I've been keeping an eye on that site. By "brick", are you referring to a fixed CPAP? I'm going to go with either the PRS One 560 Auto or the S9 Autoset.
