Elite 2 SD Card (?) Cannot be removed

Post by dtester » Sun Apr 19, 2015 8:50 am

The "card" in the machine appears upside down and backwards as the contacts face up on the outside of the unit. I cannot find how to remove this. I assume it is for some clinician cable hook up but I would like to insert a ResMed SD card.

I have not found this issue online. I have tried pushing in and pulling out and tried very gently using a pliers, no luck.

Someone..... inserted the card upside down and backwards (?).... Take it to a DME and see what they suggest. How long have you had the machine? Is it an S9 or S8? If it is an S8 you may not be looking at a card. That machine takes a special card and what you may be looking at is where the card goes into the unit.

What's the backstory? New machine, someone else's machine, first time you've looked at the SD card, what?

Take a picture and post it on imgur.com. You can post it here or just list the URL.

LSAT is probably correct. You cannot insert an SD card the wrong way. It simply won't fit. I mean I guess you could, but you'd end up destroying the card in the process and probably damaging the drive as well.

The Elite II is part of the S8 series and does not take an SD card. Instead it takes a smart card (oddball data card) that is 1980's technology. The contacts in question are part of the main circuit board, not a data card that is stuck in the machine. The contacts are used for attaching a data module, which allows you to connect the machine to a PC with a cable. There is another set of contacts further back in the machine for reading the data card.

The card stick for the elite II looks like a stick of gum
