Re: Sex and cpap
I have finally met a fantastic man. He wants to spend the night together and so do I but how do I pull out the cpap and not scare him off. Obviously i have to prepare him for it but I dont want to wear it when we are together. What have others done? Just tell him to think of it as the post coital c...

Re: Do Many of You Have the Ramp Feature Turned Off?
Started PAP therapy December 1st, 2014. Turned Ramp off after a two weeks. after starting on a respironics, and then getting a resmed, then briefly back to a new respironics, and back to another resmed, I decided I like that 'soft start' methods the resmeds have. I rented a Respironics APAP for 5 we...

Re: Whoppers I have been told from DME, techs, etc
When I told my DME here in Australia that I was going to import a machine from the USA, she warned me that machines there were made to last only 2 years. Something to do with insurance, apparently.

Re: New machine, drop in AHI
Do you know what was the pressure on your old machine, and what is the pressure range on your new machine?

Re: Using CPAP overseas
I also found this on a South African info site: Tourists to South Africa should be aware that: The South African electricity supply is 220/230 volts AC 50 HZ. Most plugs are 15 amp 3-prong or 5 amp 2-prong, with round pins. If an adaptor is called for, consider bringing one with you, although they ...

Re: Bought an Auto
When I told the sleep tech that I would be buying a machine from the USA, she warned me that the USA machines would only last 2 years. Yes, that's true. Because the water in the toilets spins the wrong way in Australia, it causes the bearings in the blower unit to wear out prematurely. However, you...

Re: Bought an Auto
Great to see another Aussie rejecting ridiculous Aussie pricing. Pity the AUD-USD exchange has slid considerably in the last two years. At the end of last year, my DME quoted me AUD$2600 for a PR System One Auto. When I told the sleep tech that I would be buying a machine from the USA, she warned me...

Re: Looking For Tips On How To Interact With The Doctor
... I spoke with the sleep tech Friday and she told me the doctor will not be happy that I have made adjustments to the machine on my own. Have you considered the possibility that it is really the sleep tech who is unhappy? After all, you have been interfering in her job. I wouldn't be surprised to...

Re: CPAP Education Outreach
Getting people properly diagnosed with apnea is not always easy. I accompanied my brother in law to his doctor appointments for two years explaining that I believed he had sleep apnea, before I convinced the doctor to have him tested. I think he scored about 300 on the Epworth test. So you have to ...

Re: CPAP Education Outreach
What about the American Sleep Apnea Association ? [ quote from website snipped ] They don't even have a "working" website anymore. Did you actually click on the link you provided? And, when they did, they were supported financially and controlled by the manufacturers. Their actual "support" was vir...
