Re: Dry mouth and eyes with a jump in AHI

Thanks Zonker! I actually have them replaced every 3 months and have the new adjustable strap and it stays tight. Any other thoughts?

Dry mouth and eyes with a jump in AHI

Hi guys - I have been very successfully using my AirCurve for a few years now. All of the sudden I have air leaking from my mouth when I exhale and wake up every few hours with my mouth dry as a bone and very dry eyes. Also my AHI went from maybe .2 up to 2 almost over night. I use pillows - and I l...

Re: Heart failure and CPAP

Ask doc about taking Ubiquenol 300 mgms/day for heart failure like this one https://smile.amazon.com/Qunol-Ubiquinol-Antioxidant-Production-Supplement/dp/B073VL4WKN/ref=sr_1_7?crid=1T03IR9KCLVFO&keywords=ubiquinol%2B100mg%2B120%2Bsoftgels&qid=1556451907&s=gateway&sprefix=ubiquenol%2Caps%2C172&sr=8-...

Re: Do you know of an eye mask that works well with the Dreamwear's frame?

I use an Alaska Bear mask from Amazon. They seem to stay stable and are big so I never have a problem with light leaking. Also cheap at about $10. https://www.amazon.com/ALASKA-BEAR-Natural-blindfold-super-smooth/dp/B00S5Q826U/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=XT2PV246RBOS&keywords=alaska%2Bbear%2Bsleep%2Bmask&q...

Re: Heart failure and CPAP

Hi - it seems you have been a member of cpaptalk longer than me, so I'm sure you know all of the general info about making sure your pressures are optimized with whatever software is available, and maybe having a journal of how you feel, as opposed to relying solely on AHI. I am younger than you an...

It makes me happy to hear that you are doing so well! But 220 lb at 6'4" is pretty damn good! I am 250lb at 5'11" so have a long ways to go.
It's 6'6'', just to be correct :^)

Mike
LOL! Whatever. I was close enough! Anyone over 6' is just tall to me!

What drugs are you on for the BP?

Damn good stats!
pms-perindopril erbumine

I wonder if it would be even better without my 1-1.50 litres of high test coffee per day :)
Yeah with that much coffee my heart would just explode!

Re: Heart failure and CPAP

CPAP does indeed have positive benefits on blood pressure and heart rate. My heart rate is much lower and steady when using PAP therapy. My BP is normal as long as I don't do stupid things like abuse caffeine. I also don't have to get up in the night to use the restroom anymore. I would kill to hav...

Re: Heart failure and CPAP

As far as experience do you see a big difference with blood pressure and sleeping longer than 6-7 hours? You mean this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_failure ? In answer to your question, not so much. My blood pressure was 180ish over 120ish last year at this time. I had already been on cpap f...

OSCAR

Hey guys-

I just got an email stating that OSCAR is live for download. Should I keep using the latest version of SH or migrate over to OSCAR?

Re: Heart failure and CPAP

CC, great that you’re making a change that can help you do more for your health! When I saw that you live in Hoboken, I was reminded of some experiences of my brother, who used to live in Jersey City. I pass them along for whatever they’re worth. He was a tech guy and had commuted in to lower Manha...

Re: New Guy...Questions

You're local! The waterfront is wonderful to be near during sunset. I lived in the City from for about 20 years and moved back to NJ when I couldn't stand no space for the exorbitant rent. I work in Brooklyn (until Friday) so still am in the City daily. I have no problems with dry sinuses unless I t...

Re: New Guy...Questions

I think you will find the pillows more comfortable. I used a FFM for the first 2 days on CPAP but couldn't get comfortable with it and the leaks. I have found that my pressure was ok to be lowered by 2. The stream doesn't bother me much at all. Conversely my partner felt he could not get enough air ...
