I just have a few questions. I am all new to this so I hope I don't sound a little off. The doctor said I have mild sleep apnea. I had 37 interruption in a 6 hour period study. Have any one here got their machine and mask from a veteran Hospital . If so what type of machine did you get and how long did it take. I have done both studies . So now I just got to get the machine and mask. In my titration report I was given a fisher and paykel eson nasal mask. But I have read that the pillow masks was the best. I like this forum it has a lot of imformation, so thank you for the replies

daywalker2232,
Welcome to the forum.
I can't really help you with information about how the process of getting a machine works when you're working with the VA hospital system.
But you also write this:
I'm a nasal pillows user and can't stand the idea of something covering the whole tip of my nose.
My hubby, on the other hand, loves his F&P Eson nasal mask and can't stand nasal pillows: The pillows blow too much air directly into his nostrils and the air feels more diffused inside of a nasal mask.
You won't know whether you like pillows or a nasal mask better until you've tried both on for at least a few minutes at your prescribed pressure.

The best mask is really in the nose of the beholder.daywalker2232 wrote:In my titration report I was given a fisher and paykel eson nasal mask. But I have read that the pillow masks was the best.

Thanks I am going tomorrow to see about picking up everything. I will keep you informed
Re: new member
I like my eson but wanted to try the P10 because od the simple head gear. I got a sore nose after a few days with pillows and was happy to have a nasal mask to switch off for a couple of days. If you are only used to pillows it is hard to do that.
Good luck with your treatment. Come back with questions. Lots of helpful people here.

I will be getting a new machine from the VA so I will be curious to see what they give you!
When you have a minute, update your equipment so it shows up in your signature. That way, those that know way more than I do will be able to give you better answers when you ask specific questions!
