PRSystem One 60 series Bi Pap Auto SV warning message

Post by Hurricane » Thu Mar 26, 2015 12:39 pm

I was awakened last night by a beeping sound from my machine, I tried to turn machine off , could not do, red light was on left button on machine, message on screen said
Low pressure support. The only way I could shut machine off was to unplug the power and return power. The Manual that was given me must be from an earlier version machine, which has trouble shooting the codes, but doesn't have the message mentioned above. Or in fact the same controls, My machine has three controls on it, the manual given me has only two. Any ideas seems fine now.

I have the same machine you have and would love to get the correct manual. The one I have is for the 950.

Ed,

The new machines (System One) don't display an error code anymore. Evidently Philips consumer research figured that a cryptic code was more alarming to the patient then a message.

Let's check the obvious first. The low pressure alarm could be tripped by a leak in the breathing circuit (hose leak, mask, connection to machine). Check that circuit carefully, hopefully it might just be a matter of replacing a hose. After checking the circuit, it gets a little more complicated. There is a relationship between the valve and the blower that could cause low pressure if one of those components are malfunctioning. If those two components are functioning properly, then it's likely a malfunctioning board. The bad news is that the power switch wouldn't tell the machine to turn off, which would indicate a problem with the board.

Now, the good news. Depending on the age of the machine it may very well be under warranty and in that case should be repaired/replaced at no charge by Philips. Take it to your DME and they can check warranty status. If your DME can't handle it for you, PM me.

In case anybody missed the small print at the bottom of the previous reply, Ian is the head of Accurate Biomed whose company repairs almost all CPAP machines. I have experience with them and they do good work.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I sent my 960 to Accurate for an issue that turned out to be a warranty issue. They handled everything including replacement from Philips.

Great company!

Thanks all for the info, and good references for repairs, This problem happened once before, I called my DME and was told if it becomes a problem they would switch it out for a new one, thanks again.
