OT:Defective frog--Breast cancer---CURED!

Post by chunkyfrog » Tue Mar 24, 2015 5:47 pm

I would have been happy to announce my negative mammogram, just last week.
. . . And then I pulled off the little band aids with the teensy ball bearing.
Surprise! A little bit of blood (1/4 tsp, about) in the innie nipple. As per instructions,
I called, and waited a weekend for an opening, and subsequently saw, my doctor,
who referred me the same day! to the specialist (his "breast" guy),
who in turn wants to remove the suspicious duct, (next Monday) have it tested, etc. {{{yikes!}}}
Now what? Anyone else? Never thought my lifelong anatomical oddity could be a threat, WTFrench fries?
Update: early breast cancer, DAMMIT! The whole boob goes! The doc is an artist, so reconstruction should be good.
Holding on to that. Asking about the gene test to see if i need to think further ahead.
Update: non-invasive, no chemo indicated. Decisions to make; one or both, rebuild or not, etc.
Update: going with the full monte, new headlights, etc. --while I'm still strong and Medicare pays for it.
Update, soon: http://video.search.yahoo.com/video/pla ... =ipad&tt=b

My mom was diagnosed in late September 2013 with breast cancer. They attacked it like PR on a whining newbie (made ya giggle), then found out that there was more lurking under her left armpit. Attacked that as well. Double mastectomy, radiation, chemo and lots of tears. She is a survivor, which to me says she is just too bitchy to let something so rotten take her down. I like to think you're bitchy too. In the "kiss my green ass, I can take on any wussy 900 pound gorilla!" kind of way. Lots depends on your support "team."
*hug* you got us, frog. Whether or not you want us...we will be here, lurking and ready to pounce. Oh, and you need peanut butter next trip to the store. Just sayin'.

Peanut butter? We may go for crepes afterward.
First the surgeon will excise the duct(s), using a Yag laser and super glue to minimize scarring,
and, I assume recovery time. An outpatient procedure, but maybe an hour's work.
I have thoroughly washed my spare P10, and will bag it in case I need it.
(I hope the cutter passed 9th grade biology)

Sorry to hear you are going through all that, Froggy! I'm glad your doctor referred you right away and that they are going to find out what's going on ASAP! Tattooed Lady is right - a support team is essential. Please, keep us posted - we'll be thinking about you on Monday. Best wishes! Tuza

I am a 14 year SURVIVOR here. Sorry you are going through this, but you seem to have the most important component in place and that is ATTITUDE. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other...keep active, ask for help if needed.

Life's trials are supposed to build character. Not sure how that works with frogs, but I hope everything works out and you end up healthier than ever.

Hugs and puppy kisses from this end.

Take care of yourself. Defective frogs can cause train derailments.

Yes Froggie, I went through this a number of years ago... bleeding from the nipple one night while doing self exam. I know the stomach-turns-over sensation when you see blood where blood shouldn't be. I had an intraductal pappiloma, a solid benign tumor inside the duct and the most common cause of bleeding from the nipple as I understand it. Same deal, excise the duct in question and biopsy to rule out malignancy. Try to breathe, and feel free to PM me.

she SAYS she's a truck driver, but she keeps telling me when I need to get milk and eggs and bread and stuff at the store...

at anyrate, you know I'm crossing MY fingers for the future health and well being of your gazongas... assuming, of course, that they're called gazongas on frogs... I'm learning SO much about frogs that I apparently missed that day I was sick in high school biology class.....
