Spooning with CPAP is so easy! I just hook the hose up between the top of the pillow and the headboard (wall works too!) Hubby skooches up behind me to spoon and it's like CPAP doesn't even exist. A blissful, cozy, snuggly sleep...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
It's been about 6 1/2 years since I first started CPAP therapy. My entire life changed for the better in so many huge ways. I still use my CPAP faithfully every night...for every nap...and it always comes with me when I travel now, in case I don't end up coming home so I don't have to worry about it...

Re: I think my CPAP is making me sick
Hi there,
My own experience is that if my humidifier runs dry in the night I will wake up with a stuffy nose, sore throat. All the symptoms of of a cold or allergies.
I would try using the humidifier again.

Re: One week's treatment results
Hi there :) I normally use a True Blue nasal mask except if I have a cold...then I switch to my Phillips Respironics ComfortGel Full Face so I can mouth breath and get my sleep. The hose attachment rotates a full 360 so you can position the ports wherever you want the stream of air to go. I tend to ...

Re: Cat Chewing....
I used to watch a program called "Psycho Kitty". The woman helped clients with cat problems and she dealt with a cat that chewed/ate cotton articles. She told the owners to have the cat checked at the vet and it turned out to be a deficiency in the cats diet. Corrected the diet...and corrected the c...

Re: fungal infections
Wow. I clean my mask daily, the hose weekly and change the filter monthly. If anything, my immune system has gotten much, much stronger and where I used to get sick at the drop of a hat or less...in the three years I've been on CPAP, I've only had two colds. They only lasted a couple of days. I'd ha...

Re: Store brand baby wipe question?
I've been using "live clean" (fresh face) wipes and facial products. They're everything free...vegan...no oil, alcohol, petroleum, silicone, dye and a bunch of other things. I buy them at Walmart but I've seen them in other stores as well. Walmart's price was the best. There's 30 wipes in in a trave...

Re: Sleep Apnea/Alzheimer's Connection
I didn't see the program Ever since I experienced all of the nasty symptoms of having severe OSA that I did, I've wondered if Alzheimer's wasn't in part untreated sleep apnea. The memory issues I had scared me silly. I wish they'd test patients showing signs of dementia/Alzheimer's as soon as there ...

Re: Poll: What type of mask do you use?
I've been using a Respironics True Blue from the beginning. It's the same mask the tech put on me and I love it. Very rarely do I notice it through the night. I've never had any issue with slipping or leaking and the air exhausting out from the elbow joint is super quiet. I'll keep using this mask a...

Sleeping with an open window...??
I just moved into an apartment. For the first time since using CPAP I was sleeping with an open window. My AHI's went from 0.0-1.5 to 2.5 during that time...so...I slept for a week with the windows closed and every night it had dropped back down to between 0.0-1.3 Last night I opened the window agai...

Re: Have you ever forgot to use your CPAP machine?
Never forgot. In fact I go into a bit of a panic if there is a power outage, or anything that prevents me from masking up and pushing air. Just like islandboy5150...I panic a little at the thought of being without it. I NEVER want to go back to feeling like I did...not even a little bit! Quote from...

Re: My Success with CPAP
HerbM - You're one lucky man to have a wonderful lady like her! So many people only know the snoring part (and even that doesn't happen with all apnea patients) and don't understand just how detrimental it is to your overall health and well-being! Another success story! She and I get online togethe...

Re: My Success with CPAP
Thanks HerbM! It's also important to hear about people who OVERCOME a lot of difficulties so that these problems don't come as a shock and deter people from continuing. Some people like you and I are lucky enough to take to a mask right away and just get the treatment from the start and that makes u...
