Contec CMS50I Pulse Oximeter
I am attempting to upload last nights recorded data to Sleepyhead. I received the CMS50I yesterday. I should be able to import from SPO2 software but it is giving me a parsing error for last night's recorded data.
I would prefer to import directly from the device in to Sleepyhead, but the CMS50I does not have an upload selection in the menu.
I would be very thankful if someone has this pulse oximeter and can help.

Re: Contec CMS50I Pulse Oximeter
I have the same pulse-ox as you, and I have no problems loading the data directly into sleepyhead from the pulse-ox. After you upload you overnight data from your xPap, you can import your pulse-ox data from Sleepyhead by clicking the oximeter icon in the right hand column. This opens a page that asks you how you want to import the data. Choose the "import from device" option.

Re: Contec CMS50I Pulse Oximeter
Thanks M'ohms. Dummy me did not select the correct device from SH's drop down menu. I still had the CMS50e selected. I did what you said and the import started and finished. Funny thing though, no data showed up in the statistics or graphs. I deleted the device data and will try again tonight. I assume when I start the APAP machine I simply turn on record in the record menu of the CMS50I, right?

Re: Contec CMS50I Pulse Oximeter
the I has a clock, and sleepyhead will sync that to your computer time, as long as you have the time offset properly set up for your prs1 drifting clock, then sleepyhead will sync the data from the i with your cpap data.coolbranch wrote:Thanks M'ohms. make a note of exactly what time you start the machine tonight, so you can get the cpap time offset correct.
then, yes, start recording when you go to bed, and stop when you're back awake.

Re: Contec CMS50I Pulse Oximeter
I start my 50I at the same time I start my S9. When I import the data I select the use the CPAP time option. If you go to bed after midnight, at least on a S9, your O2 import will show that it occurred on the current date and the CPAP data will be in the previous date. Even thought you select the CPAP time option, SH show no CPAP data for the current date to sync with. You have to select the previous date from the calendar to get to the CPAP data to show up.

Re: Contec CMS50I Pulse Oximeter
Thanks to you all, my oximeter CMS50I imported successfully into SH this morning. Looks like I have about a 5 minute drift forward on the PSR1 machine though. I will use computer (gov't) time tonight to calculate the exact time drift adjustment and enter into SH. This morning I used "match to cpap start time" to line up the pulse oximeter data on the SH graphs. Seems there is a lag on the CMS50I from when I select record to when the recording actually starts.

Re: Contec CMS50I Pulse Oximeter
I feel like if I wore a oximeter to bed it would be off in 2 seconds with the way I sleep.

Re: Contec CMS50I Pulse Oximeter
The SpO2 Assistant software can synchronize the 50I's time to your computer. Make sure that you sync you computer's time before you do this.coolbranch wrote:Thanks to you all, my oximeter CMS50I imported successfully into SH this morning. To synchronize the time do the following:
1. 50I plugged in to the computer and turned on.
2. Start SpO2 Assistant software.
3. Select the connect icon (looks like a RS-232 port).
4. Don't select the "View Device Stored Data" checkbox.
5. Select the "Connect" button. Note: If your speakers are on be prepared for an annoying pulse alarm.
6. Go to Options->Synchronize Device Time (lower portion of the options list)
7. Exit - SpO2 Assist will prompt you to save the real time file - select "No"; it will then exit.
I am uncertain how your unit adjusts its time. All I tell you is how I sync the Resmed with the 50I in hope that you can adjust this accordingly to your unit.
I turn on the 50I and go to the watch view (1 second press of the power button). I then enter the setup on my CPAP and go to the time setting. I adjust the time where it is 1 minute ahead of the 50I's time without pressing the enter button. I then wait until the time changes on the 50I and then I press the enter button on the CPAP. This puts me within a few seconds of each other.
I hope this information will get your time differences closer.

sleepyhead sets the time on the 50i also, unless you uncheck the "set device date/time" box on the import screen.SGearhart wrote:The SpO2 Assistant software can synchronize the 50I's time to your computer.

Re: Contec CMS50I Pulse Oximeter
I called a US store selling the CMS 50F, and they said they don't offer the CMS 50I because it's not FDA approved. Is that true? With the online FDA database, I searched various forms of other Contec devices that are FDA approved and must not be using the correct format because no positive results were returned.
Is FDA approval even that important for this? Is the only way to purchase the 50I via Aliexpress? Those sellers on Aliexpress list the device as having FDA approval and the CE mark, but I find it odd that there are no US sellers for the 50I.
Thanks.

Re: Contec CMS50I Pulse Oximeter
Thanks palerider. Can I assume that SH is using computer clock time? If so, I see my prs1 auto's time is 6 min & 50 sec fast.

that's all it can usecoolbranch wrote:Thanks palerider. Can I assume that SH is using computer clock time? If so, I see my prs1 auto's time is 6 min & 50 sec fast.
the prs1, unfortunately, is set at the factory/repair depot, and then it just kinda drifts off further and further from correct as time goes by.
SH syncs the oximeter to computer time, and then uses the offset to sync the data from the prs1

Re: Contec CMS50I Pulse Oximeter (New Issue)
I started CPAP and CMS50I after midnight last night. The CPAP session imported as March 6...it was actually March 7. When trying to import ox/pulse data from the device, there are no CPAP sessions showing up and the calendar is blank. I tried importing from SPO2 program file and get a parsing error. Can't read file. Any ideas as to what is going on?
