Hello all
I've been asthmatic since i was 2, in and out of hospital, currently maxed out on all asthma meds inc home nebuslisers 4 times a day.
suffered acid reflux last 10 years, which now they tell me my osophageal valve needs to be fixed, while finding that they also figured out i only have 10%swallow reflex making eating hard, possibly in the future a feeding tube.
Life long snorer, we are talking 2 doors away ppl buy ear plugs, now I've OSA and awaiting to pick up my first machine on thursday.
my respiratory specialist hopes this may actually improve my asthma, especialy if they fix my osophageal problem too.
On a positive note, i am losing some weight via diet and exercise, and going metal detecting now and again.
New to osa, and other stuff.

Hi Dave, welcome to the group. I am new here too and find people very helpful when i have specific questions. You might want To fill in your signature as you have additional health issues that sound relevant to apnea that you don't want to have to repeat every time.
Good luck
Good luck

My CPAP has helped my allergies during the night, when they are at their worst, immensely! For me just having filtered air at night is enough reason for my CPAP. I have often fantasized taking my CPAP to work during the worst of allergy season! I would also love to use it on an Airplane just to filter that disease drenched airplane air!

As Jerry said, if you have questions about apnea or cpap this a good place to ask them. Lots of very helpful people here.
Hope it goes well with the machine. When I started using mine my wife noticed a massive reduction in snoring straight away, so your neighbours are going to be delighted!
Good luck,
Pete

Welcome! Work all your issues here. Know that finding a comfortable mask that doesn't leak is the key to successfully treating this disease.
Good Luck!

Nervous as my appointment to go pick up cpap machine is day after tomorrow, but like you say great site, it's given me some incite to what I'm facing and questions i need to ask.
