phillips respironics sleep mapper

Post by besea » Sun Mar 01, 2015 9:03 am

Somehow I must have set my time period to end at Feb. 26, so I am not getting anything on my sleep mapper. How do I extend time frame to go longer than the days I previously set??

I haven't been using the software very long but personally I think it is just very buggy and works poorly. I have seen it not update for 3-4 days and then update to the current day and other times it has updated to the current day early in the morning before noon which is when they end the tracking period for the day. Currently mine is still showing data from 2/27 and because of this I am thinking of just dropping the software and useing sleepyhead to get the data weekly.

I quit using Sleepmapper after a few days. It didn't give me enough information. This site will help you get Sleepyhead. https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead and read Pugsy's Pointers viewtopic/t88983/Pugsys-PointersSleepyH ... Hints.html Then if you have problems or other questions just ask.

I use Sleep Mapper on the iPad for a quick check of my stats, but it really is wimpy, especially when compared to Sleepyhead, which is easy to download and use.

My solution to the Sleep Mapper not being up to date is to press the button on the cell modem piggybacked on to the unit. Just hold until an icon appears that looks like transmitting (I seem to have trouble with icon comprehension so never quite sure...). Most of the time it refreshes OK in Sleep Mapper after a brief delay.

I will be happy when the DME requests the modem back as I am very compliant. The idea of havng to pay for it all out of pocket makes me so!

Per my DME, the modem is only active for a set amount of time, and then Respironics turns it off. The DME can turn it back on, but it costs them money. She said she'd be happy to turn mine back on if I wanted to, but I don't want them to pay for it (they are very good to me and my husband). Does Sleepyhead work if my modem is inactive? Or do I have to continually pull the card for readings?

SleepyHead has nothing to do with the modem one way or the other and if you want to use SleepyHead you have to manually pull the SD card and put it in your computer and import/download each time.

Now there is a way to do it wireless but that involves a separate and different type of SD card along with using another program to get the data off the SD card and into Sleepyhead without pulling the SD card.

It's a lot more work than I want to do so I haven't checked it out but apparently some people are getting it done.

You can also replace the cellular modem with a Bluetooth module (http://www.sleepmapper.com/files/sleepm ... module.pdf) that will transmit the SD card data directly to your mobile device. If you hunt around, you can find this for as little as $50.
