Another noob just starting out!
Another noob just starting out!
After a few years of living with apnea, my wife made see a doctor. Sure enough, I had it bad. At least that's what the doc said. So, two sleep studies later, I'm on cpap. I just picked up my equipment this evening. The DME was most helpful. She gave me, what I believe to be, a decent machine. She wanted to give me FFM but, I told her I liked the nasal pillow type I used during my cpap sleep study better. She said that it was no problem. She gave a heated hose and a chin strap at no extra charge, even though she told me that the straps don't really work in her opinion. I said that for the comfort difference, I'd make it work! Since I got home so late, I think I'll set it all up tomorrow. I don't have a user's manual so, I had to download it. I'm not afraid of it, just too tired to mess with it tonight! Wish me luck!

Re: Another noob just starting out!
Welcome to the forum.
Can you look on the bottom of your blower unit for a 3 digit model number? May have DS, REF or P in front or behind the 3 digits.
Tell us the 3 digit number because I think you have chosen the wrong machine in your profile.
You have chosen the model 550 PR S1 Auto CPAP and that model won't work with the PR S1 heated hosed.
If you see model 560 on the bottom of the machine then this would be the correct machine choice (and please use the text option instead of the icony option because it's just faster to read the text).
Machine if 560....PR System One 60 Series Auto CPAP machine
Humidifier would then be....PR System One 60 Series heated tube humidifier with heated tube
If you see a model number other than 560 just tell us what the number is and we will point you to the correct machine.

Re: Another noob just starting out!
You're correct. It's a P560. Like I said....a noob!

Re: Another noob just starting out!
Or should I say, a 560P. I was reading it upside down.

Re: Another noob just starting out!
How would I go about switching this machine from cpap to auto?

Re: Another noob just starting out!
http://www.apneaboard.com/pr-system-one ... structions
Above will explain how to get to the clinical setup menu so you can change the mode of operation.
Might also go here and request the provider/clinical manual for your machine...instructions are down near the bottom of the page
http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p ... tup-manual
Just make sure you request the proper manual and with the 560 it will be this one
Respironics PR System One 60 Series REMstar Auto with A-flex
The provider manual will also explain how to get to the clinical setup menu plus it also has some additional information in it that will benefit you to look at....better explained than the user manual.
