Re: New 8.1 laptop and Resmed
Be sure to lock your SD card before inserting it in the laptop. Windows 8.1 is known to write index files that the Resmed machine does not like. Just lock the card before inserting, then unlock it to replace in your Resmed.

Re: New 8.1 laptop and Resmed
Thanks Pugsy it works!
Unfortunately got Sleepriders warning TOO late!
Now every time I try to turn the CPAP on, it says I must remove the data card and it no longer auto starts once mask is on.
Any suggestions appreciated

Re: New 8.1 laptop and Resmed
Do you also need to lock the data card before placing it in a windows 8.1 unit for sleepyhead , or just for resmed?
Re: New 8.1 laptop and Resmed
it's win 8.1 and macos that's the problem, writing things that the resmed s9 series don't like, it has nothing to do with sleepyhead, sleepyhead *NEVER* writes to your sd card, ever.rozenbob wrote:Do you also need to lock the data card before placing it in a windows 8.1 unit for sleepyhead , or just for resmed?

Re: New 8.1 laptop and Resmed
I ask because after downloading my data to sleepyhead, my resmed would not accept the data card without removing the data on it?

Re: New 8.1 laptop and Resmed
Windows 8.1 will write index files to an unprotected SD card that can make it malfunction with the Resmed machines. It is good practice to lock the card before inserting it in any Windows 8 machine. Sleepyhead should read the card, even though the write function is locked, and SH will not attempt to delete the data. SH is a one-way program for the SD card, it only reads.

Re: New 8.1 laptop and Resmed
I've not had any problems with Win8.1 and sleepyhead, though I have a PRS1 560... I've also never bothered to lock the SD card and everything continues to work the way it should.

Re: New 8.1 laptop and Resmed
The index file written by Windows 8.1 on a SD card does not appear to be a problem with PRS1 machines.
