Dry eye

Post by Jvirgilio » Sat Feb 14, 2015 7:30 pm

I finally found a full face mask, The resmed quatro fx, that doesn't leak. The air from the exhalation port however seems to be causing dry eye. I have to wear a mask called Quartz goggles at night time. My dry eye has gotten so bad that I needed to have a procedure done to help the dry eye issues. Has anyone else had this issue. If so, what has been helpful.

The exhaust should go straight out in front of you...not up to your eye. Are you sure that you are not leaking at the top of your nose?

Whichever way the airflow goes, it can cause eddying currents in the vicinity, even near the eyes.
I had to stop wearing the Wisp mask for this very reason. My eyes are sensitive to even a small air current.
It does NOT have to be a direct blast. The P10 has nearly no drying effect on my eyes.
The only way It could be better would be with moisture goggles from the Dry Eye Shop.

I was diagnosised with severe dry eye prior to Cpap and had my tear ducts plugged. I use frequent artifical tears. When I started Cpap I was using a nasal mask N10 with leaks into my eyes. A padacheek liner corrected this but I switched to the nasal pillows and with the P10 I don't notice air in my eyes at all.
