2 Issues

Post by lcole » Sun Feb 01, 2015 8:51 am

Hello All,
Overall things are going well. I am adjusting to the machine fairly quickly. I seem to be getting a better nights sleep each night. However, I wake up every night because my mask feels so hot. Its almost unbearable. I want to rip it off my face but I hang in there and leave it on. Any suggestions on that? I have a ResMed 10 for her. I am thinking it might be from the humidifier. I have the Quattro full face mask.
Next, no matter what time I go to bed I wake up between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m. which is a bit too early. I would like to sleep until at least 6. The problem is by 10 I am falling back to sleep because I am so tired. Even when I take the mask off in the early morning I can't fall back to sleep. Any ideas on why I can't sleep later? I have gone to bed as early as 10 and as late as 2 and I still can't make it past the early hour.
Thanks for any insight.
Laura

You can add the Resmed Airsense 10 for her to your profile.

Have you ever tried anything but a full-face mask?
What are humidifier settings? My wife gets spontaneously hot at night sometimes, and the covers go flying. If being hot in the mask comes from that, then not much to be done, but if it is a real temperature issue, reducing humidifier or heated hose temps should help.

According to Dement .. in his book the promise of sleep ... your internal clock is out of sync.

take a look at this : http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/fe ... leep-cycle

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Do you use the climate line heated hose? That would add a bit of heat.

I too wake up earlier than I use to in the mornings except I wake up at 7 a.m. each day. Before therapy, I could sleep lots later on some days. Now no matter what time I go to bed, I wake at 7. Last night I was reading till 1:30 a.m. and still got up at 7 almost on the dot. But I do feel that my rest during the night is so much better. I'm more awake when I get up and ready for the day.
