AirCurve 10 VAuto
AirCurve 10 VAuto
I've had the Resmed AirCurve 10 VAuto for 2 days now. The DME set it to auto and turned the Smart Start on. I've changed it back to my Rx and set the Auto again with a variance of 4. The Smart Start does not come on and it doesn't highlight so it can be turned on. I thought I may have turned something on that makes it not work. I've changed several setting and it is still not available. I emailed Resmed to ask them but I figure here could be faster. Do I need to set it back to factory defaults and then reset everything? Will this enable the Smart Start feature? The Smart Start is the auto start and stop feature. Maybe someone who has been using it will know and maybe already had the same problem. It is a Bipap Auto and I have it in the S setting now.

Re: AirCurve 10 SAuto
I believe that, like my s9 vpap auto, if you have the leak alert feature turned on, then it disables selection of smart start.sthnreb wrote:I've had the Resmed AirCurve 10 SAuto for 2 days now. turn off leak alert and you should be able to turn on smartstart.

Re: AirCurve 10 VAuto
Palerider, you were absolutely right. Took about a minute to go in, turn it off and turn Smart Start on. Thanks, I guess it is always best to ask people that use these for troubleshooting. That was lots easier than resetting machine and having to reset everything. I will remember not to turn leak detector back on.... I had tried other setting with no success. I imagine the S9 and S10 are real similar. One DME wanted me to get the S9 because the humidifier is separate. He is supposed to send me a heated hose to go with it also. I hope it is worth it. I've been using a 10' hose with a cover on it which has worked fine. This one also takes a slim hose. Seems it would be more restricting? Thanks again Palerider, you solved my problem.

glad to hear it.sthnreb wrote:Palerider, you were absolutely right. Took about a minute to go in, turn it off and turn Smart Start on. resetting to defaults may not have fixed it, depending on what the default setting for leak alert is then you'd have really been confused
reading the AC10 vauto/s/st manual, and comparing it to my s9 manual... well, the only differences I've found so far is the shape of the machine... I didn't see any new features called out in the manual.sthnreb wrote:I imagine the S9 and S10 are real similar.
you can use a slim,or regular hose, there are tube size settings in the config menu.

Re: AirCurve 10 VAuto
Yes, I saw the tube size settings, this one came with the slim hose. Since I've been using a 10' standard hose, I swapped it back to that. I have a cover over it. The DME is supposed to send a Heated 6' hose. I think it is standard size. I suppose the main difference is with the 10 the humidifier is built in. Another DME did not recommend the 10 because of that since the S9 humidifier is separate. I wanted to swap from Respironics and try Resmed for a change. I have 3 besides this 10. Suppose I should sell two of them. None has that much usage. The M series which was my last probably has the most and I would probably keep it for backup. The oldest is a bipap and the next is a bipap pro auto. I have all the books and manuals, case, power supply and all for them. I've always been on bipap and don't believe I could tolerate the same constant pressure of cpap. When the DME set mine up on auto, he had it like a cpap machine. I set the difference by 4 which is my Rx, 12/8. On auto it now starts at 12/8. I seriously doubt I would need less pressure but I set the Ipap limit at 15. Maybe see how it does and if it does in fact to to 15, at a later date.

Re: AirCurve 10 VAuto
the machine will set the hose size automatically when you hook up one of the heated hoses... just so you know to expect that, and don't start wondering where the setting disappeared tosthnreb wrote:YThe DME is supposed to send a Heated 6' hose. I think it is standard size.

Re: AirCurve 10 VAuto
Thanks. I did remember seeing that in the manual however so it would not have confused me, I don't think anyway.
