Has this happened to you
Has this happened to you
I've been on CPAP for a number of years and never had any problems. Then for the last two days, I woke up feeling dizzy. Has this ever happened to you? I'm trying to figure out if this has anything to do with my sleep apnea or is there something else going on. Of course I'd see a doctor if I could but I'd have to go to the hospital Emergency room to do that.

Re: Has this happened to you
Of course, we don't know anything about your genera; health history, but I certainly see no way to attribute this to CPAP or OSA. By "dizzy', do you mean lightheaded like you are going to faint? Or is the room spinning (vertigo)? Or are you unsteady on your feet, ie. a gait disturbance?

Re: Has this happened to you
I you have been using CPAP for years without the dizziness, I don't see how you can attribute this bout of dizziness to your OSA. See your doctor and discuss it with him.

I've had real good luck with the Urgent Care places. We call them "doc in the box".

Re: Has this happened to you
When I wake up, I feel lightheaded and can't walk straight. The room isn't spinning but I feel like I'm leaning right and can't walk straight. It only lasts for a few minutes, but I've also noticed I'm very tired too. I guess that's why I thought it might have something to do with my sleep apnea. I wondered if maybe my pressure is too low.

Maybe your blood pressure is too low when you first get out of bed. Suggest trying to dangle your legs over the side of the bed for a few moments, flex your calf muscles. I would strongly suggest that you not to blame OSA for an unsteady gait!

Cpap can lower your BP, but whether this is your problem or not remains to be seen... without more to go on.

Seriously? Urgent care is a lot less, easier to get to and you clearly have an issue that you should talk to a doctor about.m1k2s3 wrote:I've been on CPAP for a number of years and never had any problems. Perhaps you have had a stroke? Call the emergency room.

Re: Has this happened to you
I have had the morning vertigo thing....BPPV http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benign_par ... al_vertigo
Sometimes very brief mild and sometimes pretty nasty and lasts a long time. Sometimes I bounce off the walls and visit the throne for puke city often...sometimes I can't walk at all and lasts for days and days.
BPPV is very common while it is possible this is what is going on in your situation please see a doctor just to make sure it isn't something more serious going on.
I doubt it is related to sleep apnea though. If you are wondering about pressures...you have a S9 Elite machine which is a full data machine..use the software available to evaluate your therapy and pressure needs.

Re: Has this happened to you
If you monitor your blood pressure, what is the reading when you feel like this and after it subsides? If you don't, I would suggest you do. This will aid the doctor as well.

Re: Has this happened to you
I'll chime in on seeing the doctor.
Could be any number of things. First that comes to my mind is ear canal issues (earwax buildup) or inner ear problems.
