Z1 travel cpap

Post by geyerpd » Mon Jan 26, 2015 8:47 pm

MY Z1 cpap is set at 15 pressure level, yet compared to my other cpaps it has a great deal too much pressure. The reviews mention such a problem, usually solved by returning it. I like the Z1 size and would like to find a solution other than returning it. My first thought is to have it set at lower level even though my prescription is for 15. Any others having this experience or having tips on addressing the problem?

Z1 is best used as a door stop, or a paperweight!

geyerpd, Have you actually put a manometer on it?

The Z1's pressure "feels" different because of the way it's produced, a very small motor/blower turning at a very high RPM as opposed to a large motor/blower turning at a slow RPM. I put a manometer on both my Z1 and Z1A and they are dead on with pressure.

If you only occasionally use the Z1 it may be that you never really get used to that. I use my Z1 more often then my System One because I'm traveling more than I'm home so I feel that using cpap-3 or apap-3 it is just as comfortable as the larger machine.
