Trying the other side of therapy

Post by Tatooed Lady » Mon Jan 26, 2015 6:06 pm

I've got my PR560 autos that have been working great for me since funking around with the settings to my own comfort and amusement...BUT...I'm a curious sort, so I figured that tonight I'm going to try out straight CPAP mode, and see what all the fuss is about. Who knows? It might be an improvement for me. Or, it might be a one night "never again," but I feel like I'm cheating myself out of something by not at least trying a few new things...no flex, no nothin'. I'm hardcore tonight. Omg, I came THIS CLOSE to not giggling when I typed that!!!

I found that when I switched from auto to straight Cpap that my FL disappeared so I just figured my body doesn't like the changes in pressure throughout the night.

euh, when you switch your machine to cpap mode, it stops recording flow limitations. or so I've read.

If you leave your APAP in that mode, but set the minimum and maximum pressure to the same pressure setting, you may still see the Flow Limitations. Putting it in CPAP mode doesn't record or show them because they're a "trigger" for Autos to increase pressure, but since straight pressure CPAPs can't increase pressure, they're not noted.

Surprisingly, SOME people have over the years........and found the benefits.

Good luck with your experiment TL. Give it (at least) a few nights. And, it may take some tweaking to find the right settings.

Yeah. With the minimum and maximum at the same pressure setting it is essentially CPAP mode, but you get to see "stuff" that may not show up in the "CPAP" setting reports.

I love how PR says "whining". *snort* and just think how refreshed Pugsy will be when she gets back...why, I bet we'll hardly be able to see that weird facial tick anymore!

When I say it, the 'h' is silent. Makes it sound like I'm ordering a bottle of Boones farm. You say it with class and culture...where did you learn THAT trick??
