Battery operation of a ResMed S9

Post by Physician » Fri Jan 23, 2015 3:14 pm

If one wants to operate the S9 auto set from a battery source, from where does one get the battery, which kind, what value, where to buy the connector, what's the runtime, etc.

Thank you so much. I misspelled "battery" when doing a search, but it's always nice to get up to date information. Wonder if there's a way to put the battery in parallel and connected, so it serves as a backup in the event of AC power failure.

Yes. If your goal is home backup for power failure the system I put together recently will work fine. The 35 Amp-hour battery will run a S9 with humidifier for a night or more, depending on settings, up to a week with no humidity. If more power is needed, use a larger battery. The AGM style batteries are safe for home use - the one I chose is for a home mobility scooter. The charger is safe for full time use and can be setup in UPS mode.
