Sleep Master Wireless XPAP data transfer

Post by Jack_Russel_Fan » Fri Jan 16, 2015 5:41 am

It has been awhile since I released a new version for Ubuntu, XP, and Vista.

Just posted a new version, v1.0.1.41 on the sleepmaster.org website!

Thanks for all your work on this. I know it was rocky at first but you stuck with it.

BTW, all you newbies out there: xPAP means any CPAP machine whether straight CPAP, auto, bi-level or ASV... hence the 'x' designator.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Can you please explain how this works? A modem of some sort? From machine to computer I expect. Does it work with Sleepyhead? Brief but I am getting over pneumonia(I hope).

You will need to purchase a Toshiba FlashAir WiFi SDCard that is supported.
The workstation that has sleepyhead on it, needs to have WiFi support or if using Station Mode, a connection to the Access Point that has WiFi.
When configured, you will run Sleep Master:
- Will connect to the SDCard using WiFi
- Will obtain what files have changed since last process
- Will copy those files to your workstation.
After that is complete, you use SleepyHead to import those files in just like you do now with an SDcard, but now you will point to the folder/directory that contains the new downloaded files (typically something like C:\Resmed depending on your machine type)

Image

The entire process takes less than 30 seconds typically and you never have to take the SDCard out of the Xpap again to get new data.

I would love to see this ported over to OS X. I've been looking over the FlashAir CGI documentation and trying a little bit here and there in AppleScript, but I've never used AppleScript and haven't found a good chunk of time to sit down and dive in. One of these days...

Probably the easiest way to use Sleep Master on an Apple OS would be to use a Windows program loader, or emulator. There are several of them on the market.

I know very little about Apple OS's and have no Apple equipment available. Sorry!

Thank you Jack_Russel_Fan! I downloaded it the other day and waited for my card to come in. Now got it setup and it works perfectly.

Recorded a screen video of how it runs when I use it on my desktop.

Short, no sound, just shows it connecting, getting data, then loading SleepyHead when done and I click on import to get the new data. This was the actual run I did this morning.

Sweet video. It clears up a lot of questions I had. Thumbs up.

BTW, Tom is looking for someone who has a Resmed AirSense 10 that he can get a copy of the directory structure from. He needs to see what/where the files are located on the SDCard and doesn't have access to one.

A screen shot of the root directory of he SDCard would probably work, but best would be a RAR compressed archive of an actual card.

You can PM an image showing the directory or if you want to compress a copy of your SDcard and don't know how to, shoot me a PM and I will talk you through it.

Once he gets this he will be able to start supporting the AirSense and most likely the AirCurve lineup.

Sleep Master is now tested to be compatible with the Airsense10,
starting with v2.0.1.15 and up!

Many thanks to bruskee for providing SD card data copy and helping in the testing process!

v2.0.1.15 is available at sleepmaster.org.

Also, Sleep Master has been tested to work with the less expensive
Toshiba Flashair Card model SD-R008FR7ALO1 8GB card!

That is good to know. The 8GB card would make more sense for this type of application.

QUESTION: Does it also support AirCurve 10's as well? Not sure if there would be a difference.

Looks like the no click (actually 2 click) automation has changed...

To turn it on, you have to uncheck the option: Turn Off No Click Data Option which was on by default.

Then when the application runs, it auto starts the transfer. After you enter SleepyHead or whatever Data Analyze app you have configured, it stays running. It will then automatically transfer the following day at 1pm without any action by the user as long as it keeps running.

Image

Note the image that is displayed on the Application is one I created, I don't think it comes with the application.

Also shows the noted IP of the FlashAir card which is useful for those who don't know how to figure out what it is.

I do not know for sure if Sleep Master is compatible with the Aircurve10. Am willing to test it if someone would send me a compressed copy of their SD data card, in .rar format. PM me if you are willing to do this!

I recorded another no-sound video of using the newest version of Sleep Master this morning and uploaded it to You Tube.

http://youtu.be/Ebvdqo_I35Y

This video shows Sleep Master using no click mode where it starts the transfer as soon as the application starts.

Clicking the Start Sleep Data Software button launches the analyzer software when the transfer is completed (in this case SleepyHead) where you can then import the new data.

You can if you choose (not shown in the video), leave Sleep Master running after the transfer and it will transfer again automatically the next day at 1pm.

Once setup, the whole process is very simple and you don't take the SDCard out anymore.

With support now for the 8GB Toshiba FlashAir card which is ~$19 it is very inexpensive way to get your data with little hassle. More information and how to donate to him to offset expenses can be found at: http://www.sleepmaster.org/about.html

Note that I am no affiliated with Sleep Master other than being a very satisfied customer.
