Hi all! I've been on CPAP therapy for about a month. I was wondering if any of you have recommendations for a full face mask that works well (read: minimum leaks) for a woman with a petite face.
I have to use a full face mask because sinus problems make it too hard to breathe only through my nose, but even a size small in many FFM results in leakage around my nose, which then shoots up at my eye and wakes me up! I have dealt with it by tightening the mask, but that creates red marks on my face, and I have been told that this means the mask is too tight.
Anyway, I'm wondering if there is a particular mask out there that works well for small faces.
Best FFM for petite face?

investigate mask liners, they help tame the shooting in the eye leaks. it'll still leak, but will be much less annoying.rdavis wrote:Hi all! I've been on CPAP therapy for about a month. Re: Best FFM for petite face?
I don't usually try and convince someone about a certain mask because all of our faces are so different that what works for one person may not work at all for another person. But in your case I am going to suggest looking into the F&P Simplus FFM; I say this because of all the FFM masks I've tried it seems to have the most volume of silicone cushion around the nose area, so it might work for you. I used to use the trusty Mirage Quattro, but had problems with the bridge of my nose getting tender and the leaking in the eye problem. The Simplus solved both for me due to the very generous silicone cushion in that area of the nose.

I got tired of trying new masks and not being able to return them, so for a few bucks more you can purchase return insurance from cpap.com so that if a mask does not work for you it will still be returnable.
The Simplus frame fits all the different cushion sizes......S, M, L.........but there are different head gear sizes. You can print out the pdf sizing guide to figure out what cushion size you need, just be sure when you print the template you set the printer options on 100% so the template will be actual size.
Oh, and like PR said up above be sure and look into a mask liner like the Pad-A-Cheek...........they do work well and solve a lot of leak issues, and they make the masks much more comfortable against your skin.

Resmed Airfit F10 or the Quattro Air (they use same cushion) in size X-Small
Hans Rudolph 7600 V2 in size Petite

Re: Best FFM for petite face?
After the first 2 months using a small, I got an x-small cushion, and it made a huge difference.
