Difficulties breathing in

Post by Shrade774 » Fri Dec 19, 2014 12:20 am

Hello everyone!

Been using a REMstar Plus C-flex for about 9 months now, and I was lucky to take to it almost instantly. I've been noticing though that lately, I find myself waking up and having a hard time drawing breath through the nose mask. It's still pushing air through, but it's not enough air, and I feel like there's resistance as I draw air through it. Hard to explain, except that it's not pushing enough air for normal breathing.

I replaced filters, clean the reservoir/mask/tubing regularly, and even bought a new mask and tubing thinking that might be part of it. Anyone ever have this happen to them, or any ideas on what to try next, beside call the company that sold it to me for service? Hoping there's a "duh" answer out there and I just don't know it.

Thanks!

been there done that. I will bet your pressure is below 10 .. when you start the night it feels like the pressure is good .... but later or in the morning just does not feel right.
I even made a home made manometer to test the pressure, and the cpap was putting out the proper pressure.

You are just getting accustom to the pressure !

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

You've already done the things I would have thought to check. Since you say it's happening into the night (when we generally have more REM) I'm thinking you might need more pressure in REM than the other stages. Maybe you could bump your pressure up just a bit and see if it resolves the sensation of difficulty breathing in.
