It sounds like you are noticing the teeth chipping off at NIGHT, not during the day. So I would highly suspect teeth clenching and grinding to be the culprit. The force exerted is extremely strong on teeth. A nighttime mouthguard made by a dentist would protect your teeth.

Weight loss does get rid of the OSA for some people. My daughter lost 100pds + and no longer has Sleep Apnea. The only way to find out is lose it and get retested. Either way you come out ahead if you lose the excess weight.
