H5i Leaking Water

I have a strange problem I am hoping someone knows something about. My 2 year old got into my machine a while back and now the humidifier leaks water out the hose and mask (like severe rain out, but happens as soon as turned on) with the upgraded dishwasher safe humidifier tank. This has happened wi...

Re: trouble inhaling with nasal resmed mask and Philips tubing

Thank you good advice. I only recently discovered how to get the info off my machine. It was previously locked. In Ontario we are followed by companies like PrpResp amd are followed once a year. The woman I was under said she didn't want me any higher than 8 because I might end up with some sort of...

Re: When to replace mask cushions

I have an oily face and so go through cushions quicker than most. Don't pay too much attention to when I replace them, other than when I am waking up by leaks of notice it leaks easier than it should. Probably replace very 2-3 months.

Re: trouble inhaling with nasal resmed mask and Philips tubing

For me, anything less than a pressure if 8 and I feel like I can't inhale easily at all. My starting pressure is 9 and that is OK using the largest p10 pillows. Medium pillows fit better, but do seem to restrict my ability to inhale too much to be comfy. Lately I have moved to a nasal mask and it fe...

ResMes N10 Mask (pseudo)review

For anyone thinking about the N10 mask I thought I would post my experience with it, as it doesn't seem to get much love (or hate) on the forum that I can see. Using pillows for the past year (P10 and Swift FX), but concerned about the long term affects on my nostrils with using pillows. Lately (cou...

Re: Fifth Night on CPAP

Dry mouth and leak of 11 probably indicates some air escaping through your mouth. If it is not waking to you up it is probably ok until you get used to the machine and then can address some lagging leaks. Under 24 Resmed says the machine can handle it, but it might be waking you up. When I first sta...

Re: Celexa and AHI (Centrals)

Thanks for the reply, Pugsy. It did not occur to me that the SSRI might be causing an increase in arousals which would then lead to sleep onsets, which I know I am a bit prone to for whatever reason.

Celexa and AHI (Centrals)

I have recently (3-4 weeks) started a treatment of daily 20mg Celexa. I have noticed over the same time period that my typical daily AHI has gone from about 1-1.5 pre-Celexa (mostly obstructions) to typically 2-3 post-Celexa (obstructions the same, but more centrals now) since starting the medicatio...

Re: If you could have any pap machine, what would you pick?

For me, I would like to try a bilevel machine. I have a pressure that runs high lots of the night (around 18-20) and I just wonder if the help from a bilevel would be nicer. I imagine that if you're not having any problems exhaling against the machine you have, then you wouldn't get anything out of...

Re: Is there a minimum difference between IPAP and EPAP pressure

So what does this imply for us that want to use EPR of 3 on our autoset? IMO, means you better watch data to make sure you don't need to raise your starting pressure in auto mode. ResMed pulled a fast one by providing, virtually, bilevel comfort in a CPAP blower. Sneaky little devils. The good thin...

Indeed, the EPR on the S9 Elite and S9 Autoset provides a delta of 3.

So what does this imply for us that want to use EPR of 3 on our autoset?

Re: Resmed P10 nasal pillows: inhaling exhaled air.

Cleaning of equipment is a personal preference, sure. However, it should be noted that daily (or even weekly cleaning of hoses) of your cpap is a bit ocd. Some folks daily wipe the surface of the mask to remove face oils, that seems legitimate as a method of prolonging the life of silicone, although...

Re: Hi - I'm new here

If you go to the sleep centre in Sundance you get hooked up with a dedicated sleep doc that follows you indefinitely, covered by Alberta health. Tests cost money, $200 for both home study and home titration where they figure out your pressure. Having a dedicated sleep doc is a real perk we have acce...
