Re: Reviews of new AirFit P10 Resmed nasal pillow mask thread

An interesting happening for those who complained about the plastic piece of the Airfit resting on the upper lip... I was unusually tired and cranky last night and along with the headgear feeling tight, I felt the plastic piece resting heavily on my upper lip. I wasn't happy. I tossed the hose up a...

Pugsy, do you have all that stuff crammed into your brain, or do you have a cheat sheet next to your computer?

Re: Flow Limitation Statistics - Informal Poll

Someone more knowledgeable than me please correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that a machine's ability to identify flow limitation and score it meaningful is someone debatable. My understanding is that flow is used in auto titration mode to help adjust pressure in the prediction of ...

Re: Leaks

Leaks are a problem for two possible reasons: a) Large leaks may impair your machines ability to match therapy pressure consistently and therefore affect the quality of the therapy and not prevent events. Also, large leaks may prohibit the machine from properly identifying events and therefore make ...

Re: Struggling getting used to CPAP. Help!

Some people are very sensitive to higher temps and feeling closed in. Based on what you describe, I would be tempted to first play with the epr settings on your machine as Messing with temp will affect your humidity levels. I would suggest starting with epr 1 and try that a few nights. Then try 2 a ...

Re: Humidifier not using water

I reset my temp to 62 and my humidity to 4. hopefully that will help. I called my DME and she said the check is let it warm up take the reservoir out and see if it at lease feels warm. I don't want warm I want COOL! That's pretty chilly to get super humid air. Cold air cannot physically hold as muc...

Re: What kind of water can I use in humidifier?

Using distilled water should mean there is nothing left on the tank to clean. I have not cleaned mine in 5 month, only top it up every morning with distilled and it looks brand new still!

That's good advice, thanks Pugsy. Part of the search for a FFM is out of curiosity as I have not used one.

Re: Struggling getting used to CPAP. Help!

Could you tell us your pressure settings and also which S9 model you are using (there are four: Escape, Escape Auto, Elite, and Autoset)? Better yet, go to User Control Panel and add your equipment to your profile. I will update my profile when I get home tonight. Not exactly sure what pressure 'se...

Re: Struggling getting used to CPAP. Help!

Most common cause of what you are describing is having a starting pressure of less than 7. For me, anything less than 8 feels extremely restrictive!

Re: Leak Line Evaluation

Julie, agreed - that is kind of my plan. I really like the nasal pillows, though, and I am kinda hoping leaks like this do not affect the efficacy of the treatment as they are smaller than 24 L/min. However...I am beginning to look in FFM alternatives to try in the event this becomes a chronic probl...

Re: OSA OPERATION ? LATEST ENT SURGERY TO CURE IT!

But maybe as a younger person the risk is worth it. Not my place to judge a person's perceived quality of life and if "cpapless" would GREATLY increase their perception and they think the reward is worth the risk...... I would suggest that younger people need "older" folks to call them on risky, va...

Leak Line Evaluation

My doc switch me from straight 8cm to 8-14cm. I think the higher pressures are causing some mouth leaking, but I am not 100% sure. This is last nights data, I did not wake up (that I remember) due to any of the leaks shown. Does this look like mouth leaks? If so, as I did not wake up, is it safe to ...
