Well I think you may be right. The sooty filter on the cpap was waxy to the touch. Also I checked our furnace filter which I just replaced a month ago is also black from the return air in our home. Thanks for the info.

Yes we are burning candles. Hard to believe soot from them would get in our bedroom.

We have 3 carbon monoxide detecters in our home. So I am ruling out the furnace is at fault. I will get new filters tomorrow and see what happens then.

I tried using the nasal mask but the pressure is so strong that my sinuses cannot handle it. Pressure is set at 14. Any suggestions. I have my first check up in two weeks.

My cpap machine is sitting on my night stand just above our forced air furnace register. Not sure where the black ring is coming from on my face just around my beard at the bottom of my mask. My filter is also black. Cannot wash the black outof the filter either. Any ideas??
