Stopped up nose and pillows

Post by User81 » Sat Nov 22, 2014 8:53 pm

Many nights one side of my nose is blocked up. I use pillows and got to thinking .......... Am I getting enough air through my one nostril? The pressure would help get air through the blockage. I'm thinking tidal volume will tell me.....
Each of us is different but it seems that 500/600 is about normal. Before pillows my full face gave me 540 ave. using pillows and partial nose blockage still shows me in the 500/600 range. My minute vol is 6 to 8 also in range.
So... Even with the blockage I'm still getting enough air into my lungs for oxygen.
Does this logic seem correct to my fellow CPAPers?

I sometimes wake up with one nostril plugged up for some reason. I think it has to do with normal nasal cycle sometimes.
You can still get enough air/oxygen through one nostril.
Nothing to worry about.
