Retrofit Respironics DS560 with heated tubing?

Post by Sleeprider » Thu Nov 20, 2014 10:03 pm

Can a Respironics DS560 with heated humidifier and performance tubing, be retrofitted with the heated hose connection and tubing? I'm looking at a Craigslist deal for new machine with the performance tubing, otherwise everything I want.

Where would I source the connector and tubing if that is possible?

75$ upgrade kit available from cpap.com, just look for the respironics humidifier stuff, it's on that page.

Well there is this kit. It looks like it comes with everything you need. I'm thinking of upgrading myself.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. I was looking at machines and saw the option, but didn't see the accessory by itself.

Much appreciated.

It's an easy upgrade to do. When I got my first 60 series machine it wasn't heated hose compatible so I got that kit from cpap.com and changed it out. Hardest part was changing the lid on the humidifier because I was afraid I would break something.

Sounds like the OP got the answer they needed. Here's something to consider in the money savings area for those without insurance or on a budget:

A replacement heated PR CPAP hose is about fifty two dollars at CPAP.com

A regular CPAP hose with rubber ends is about seven dollars anywhere.

Using a regular hose and a hose cosy/wrap I can get by since I don't like a lot of heated air in my therapy. Here's an effective and inexpensive hose cover. This hose cover has no zippers or snaps or whatever and should last years.

http://pur-sleep.com/shop/cozyhoze-case-cover.html Read the instructions before you try to wrap your hose.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I always used the Aussie sleep system hose before. Still works, although the price has gone up. I like the idea of not having another cord and brick to carry around.
