Don't know anything about that one but there are also dental appliances that can help with OSA ...I will be reciveing my appliance from the dentist tomorrow and I will report if I have any success with it.
There is also the AVEO TSD which looks GROSS, it is for snoring but might help with OSA.

Then there is also this : http://healthinfo.uclahealth.org/YourFa ... t/6,683611
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

Is this what you are talking about?

I have never heard of anyone here trying this approach nor do I know of anyone who has.
Knowing what I know about nasal tube insertions...no way in hell would I be able to do this night after night.

There is a nasal stent called Propel that surgeons put into the nasal sinus opening after sinus surgeries like ethmoidectomies, maxillary and/or frontal antrostomies (openings into the sinuses) or those particular sinusectomies where the sinus contents are removed, as well as balloon dilations of sinuses, etc. The Propel stent is infused with steroid,& it prevents scarring as healing occurs from the surgery. I don't think lay people would be inserting these stents themselves, & am not sure they are available to other than medical professionals. The Dr has to insert it during surgery, usually after he is done with the other procedures he performs on sinuses. The stents do eventually lose their effectiveness as the drugs lose potency over time and start to dissolve, & may periodically need to be replaced if your ENT thinks it is necessary for another sinus surgery. A few ENTs are using these in a few Atlanta hospitals now. You can Google it for more information. I code surgeries and these nasal sinus stent insertions, at least in the Southeast portion of USA, started showing up about mid-spring last year in op reports that I code. I don't know if they work for OSA, doesn't have anything to do with the tongue falling back in sleep & cutting off air. There is an operation now where the ENT surgeon can suspend the tongue with permanent sutures so it doesn't fall back and cut off the airway, but not many of them are being done. I believe it is called a somnoplasty. I have not heard how effective it is for OSA, but I would try it. There are specialized ENT Drs that deal in sleep apnea in the Atlanta, GA area that are performing these. Probably other areas in the USA where you could get this procedure done too. I would have one done if I lived there and had decent medical insurance, but that is a 7 hour drive and my medical insurance isn't all that great with a high deductible.
