Re: Can CPAP cause tongue sores?
Maybe thrush? It is a common after-effect of antibiotic use. The bullfrog and I got thrush from garlic bread with loads of sliced, raw garlic. (Garlic kills bacteria--sometimes a bit too much.) His went away naturally, but mine ...

... problem with the coated white tongue and foul taste in a.m. The white tongue won’t go away, with tongue brushing. My dentist does not thinknit’s thrush but I asked her to prescribe Nystatin swish and swallow just incase and it did not help. It started a couple moths after starting CPAP.

... really helps soothe and heal it quickly. I use coconut oil. If you swear you are not mouth breathing, is there any possibility you could have oral thrush (usually from inhaled steroids to treat asthma or COPD)? You might talk to your doctor or dentist to rule it out if your tongue isn't feeling ...

Consult your doctor.
You may have thrush.
No connection AT ALL to using cpap.
Nice try, though.

Black tongue??
... I got up to use the bathroom and looked in the mirror and stuck my tongue out (which I do, just to keep track of if it's thinking about developing thrush....which I've gotten several times in my life). Anyhow.......my tongue was black!! I'm not talking coal black, but a very dark gray over the ...

Re: Tongue and throat
It sounds a bit like thrush.
Sometimes the "natives" get restless.
The bullfrog and I made some extreme garlic bread.
It was delicious, but it threw our oral flora into a tizzy.
Garlic is an excellent germ killer--killing even the good ones.

Yeast? Dehydration? Taping mouth the culprit??
... I hesitate to rock the boat. Also.....the nasal pillows seem to keep my nose/sinus congestion under control at night. I've occasionally had oral thrush in my life. I also even had "hairy tongue" once.......treated with antibiotics...so I'm thinking my mouth is vulnerable for some reason. But ...
