can sleepy head import 02 data from the s9 ornew a10

Post by wilsonintexas » Wed Oct 29, 2014 7:15 pm

I know that sleepy head imports 02 data from stand-alone devices. I do it all of the time.

My wife is probably going to start on cpap soon, and we are looking at the Airsense 10 autoset for her. Part of her problem is that we know her o2 sats drops down to 88 and lower even when the events only last 3-6 seconds.

I am thinking about getting the 02 adapter, but would only do that if the data is imported into sleepy head with the rest of the cpap data.

Does anyone know if sleepy head imports the o2 data if it is stored on the cpap machine?

The O2 adapter for Resmed last time I checked was over $1000. Why not just use a CMS 50xx

Edit for error... SleepyHead and ResScan both will report the O2 data collected.

it does import the s9 adapter, has for ages. no idea whether it will import the ata from the as10, because nobody's come up with one yet.

the cms50f and i are more practical, because you don't have another wire to get tangled inat night, but of course, the ridiculously priced 'official' ones are a tiny bit easier on import.

I thought SH did import s9 oximetry.

I didn't think Mark ever had an access to the equipment needed to make it compatible with SleepyHead.
Different brand oximeter if I remember right. I thought he stuck with CMS.
I suppose we ought to confirm one way or another but I don't remember him ever having the S9 stuff needed to get that job done.

well, the wiki says it reads the s9 info off the sd card from the s9. presumably, someone sent him data... he's pretty good at decipering that stuff

I think that it's also working with the prs1 oximeter now, thanks to data jds sent mark.

I remember lusting after the s9 official one becuase it worked with SH, and then I got smart and got the cms50 and saved myself 900$ *lol*

Okay...then I stand corrected. I looked for that compatibility stuff in the Wiki but must have missed it as I am trying to not have a heart attack right now...my Royals are in trouble.

Trying to do too many things at one time I guess.

So Wilson...never mind what I said except that ResScan will do it...that part I know is correct.
and PR says SH will and I believe him...I just couldn't find it myself but then I didn't look real hard either.

my reply got lost:

here is why I am looking into this:

1) If I can get the DR to perscribe it (since the problem has been low o2)
2) If the insurance will cover it

then I wanted to be sure I could access it.

I have met my out of pocket max for the year. If I get the machine before the end of the year, it should not cost me anything, so I might as well try to get it. It will also be a spare for when my cm50 dies.....

When I was corresponding with Mark to get System One oximetry into SleepyHead, he said the ResMed import had been there for some time.

BTW comparing the O2 data imported from a CMS50F to the data from the Respironics unit, the CMS50F numbers are from .5% to 2% lower. Some of that variance could be the different oximeters and some could be the different fingers.

I just asked my sleep doctor for a scrip for one and she wrote it. I didn't submit the costs to my insurance though because there was no real history of significant desats.

It won't load at all for me...or I don't have all night to wait on it.
I see you laughing...don't think I don't.
Cough quietly my butt...you are laughing your ass off I bet...
I am going to bed....ball game didn't turn out like I hoped...
I did look but I guess I can't see the forest for the trees. Sometimes I read what I expect to see and not what I really see.
Same thing with my typos. I don't catch them. I see it as it is in my head and not how I end up typing it.
I found a sentence this morning that I wrote yesterday...contained no typos but it totally didn't make any sense at all. Almost gibberish but I am sure last night it made total sense.

Don't pat yourself on the back too hard...you might break your arm.

Good night...

what? me? never! I have the utmost respect for you and what you do here.

as to typo's... the only reason I don't seem more like a blithering idiot is because I tend to go back and re-read my posts after I submit them, just to make sure they're good, and sometime edit typos then
