Sleepyhead numbers-am I helping or hurting myself?

Post by TheBigSleep » Sat Oct 25, 2014 10:18 pm

Hello!

Can someone please tell me if these are acceptable numbers? I have to strap my mask on insanely tight because I think it might be too big. I hope the numbers below are what most folks would consider decent. (I am assuming no medical advice etc etc-just need some "average joe" opinions.) Thank you very very much!

AHI:1 over last 90 days
Obstructive Index 0.39
Hypopnea Index 0.43
ClearAirway Index 0.17
RERA Index 0.46
% of time in CSR 0.23%

Leak Statistics
Average Leak 7.26
90% Leak 21.00

Looks good to me. You didn't say what your pressure settings are, but other than that those are good numbers.
Yeah, you shouldn't have to cinch a mask that tight. They should pretty much float on your face with the proper tension.

Good job. Carry on.

Thank you for the fast reply! My pressure is 12.0.

Yeah the mask is pretty tight. It makes my neck sore the next morning.

By keeping it tight you're probably not allowing the thin silicone 'cushion' to inflate at all, which changes your therapy, and maybe you should try some Pad-a-Cheek liners that help minor leaks. You could also try wrapping something like a swatch of lambskin around the back strap to soften the effect.
