data recording

Post by springman946 » Fri Oct 24, 2014 6:19 pm

can anyone tell why my bipap machine records data on my SD card I know its for my home care provider to make sure I am being compliant but for example after they find out that I am being compliant I could go home and say that I used my cpap machine when I really did not. I will not do that I use my bipap machine every night. I am just wondering about this

Besides "compliance", your card also records the "events" during the night while you sleep. You can't fool or fudge the data because if you weren't actually hooked up to the machine and just let it run and blow air, there wouldn't be any events and it would look like one big leaking period. It would be evident that you weren't using it.

The "data" it records can actually be used to see how well your therapy is working and if the pressures or settings are doing what they're supposed to be doing. If they're not, the settings can be adjusted to provide better therapy.

Additional, not only is it recording it to the sd disk. It is also recording it internally on machine itself.

I wish you well

Also, you can run the machine without the sd disk for some period of time, and when you put the disk back in it writes data to it.

it does it because it's designed that way
