i'll be scheduling an appt to discuss with doctor, but my details are:
started as newbie on cpap, using #4 pressure
felt great first week or so. really energetic. it's not that i slept longer, just sounder
after that week i started to feel bleh again
chest started to pain me in middle of night
it took me a while to figure it out, but i finally had a theory that the air being pushed into my body by the cpap and backpressure on my exhale could be taxing my lungs, so i did a test and stopped using the cpap a couple nights ago
it's been a few days and chest pain seemed to fully go away when i stopping using cpap
has anyone heard of such a thing?
i'm more inclined to think my lungs are weak as opposed to the machine not working properly, but maybe i'm not doing something right.
thanks much for any thoughts.

Re: help troubleshoot
It is muscle soreness and will go away as the muscles grow stronger.dougndoug wrote:i'll be scheduling an appt to discuss with doctor, but my details are:

You haven't inhaled this fully in years. I went thru it too.

Is that your current pressure or is it where your pressure starts.......or what?dougndoug wrote:i'll be scheduling an appt to discuss with doctor, but my details are:

A pressure of 4 cm. is practically "nothing". What are ALL of your machine settings?
Are you monitoring your therapy with software? If not, why not?
I get the feeling some information is missing here.

(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.

Re: help troubleshoot
that is the best news ever if it is just muscle soreness and will go away. at first i thought the chest pain was heart problems, then when i did the test and stopped using cpap and my chest felt better, i thought maybe i had lung problems.
i'm mid-40's and otherwise healthy (no issues with physicals, etc). i had asthma as a kid and think my lungs may be a bit weaker due to this than the average person.
how long did you have chest soreness until it went away completely? i've been on the cpap for a bit over 2 months. also, what pressure did you have it at?
to answer the other person's question, i was monitoring my therapy with that program everyone uses ( i forget name, the one with the sheep icon). all the lines looked low and constant. i did initially research what they meant, although i don't remember now. doctor said i needed the lowest pressure the machine uses, of 4 (i guess that is CM)
