Re: nasal mask

When I was dong my in-lab tests I tried Resmed Mirage Nasal or women, but could not stand the bar in the middle of the face. So I got the Swift FX in xtra small size. Worked fine But then there was also the P10 to try. And I did. Not good. Since it has a hard shell by the nostril piece it pushed int...

Re: AirSense 10 Humidifier badly discoloured after first use

Mine is just fine after a month of usage. In fact, I wish I could turn it off, with the unit still in. I don't need the humidity. So I doubt it has to do with anthything linked to a wide recall. But if any one has information on how to turn at humidity off, I'm all ears.

Resmed pillows: Swift FX vs P10, XS are not the same

I got to try the new P10 for women mask today.

When using the Swift FX I need an XS and it fits well.

In the P10 the XS is almost too big: I need to put it on while looking in the mirror to make sure it is well adjusted. We'll see if it will work over night.

A word to the wise.

Should you really change your nasal pillows or cushions every 2 weeks? Seems excesive to me.

Palerider, what do you mean by "hot water shrink"?

Thank you.

Re: Canadians - What is the pressure range to qualify for A-Pap?

On a Quebec CPAP blog someone mentioned getting a super deal from an online dealer in Ontario, and great service - but this board won't let me give you the link ;0) It's CPAC clinic dot CA ;0) It may be worth a call to see what they may be willing/able to do for you. Every day we hear about the heal...

My friend graduated the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) where his undergraduate thesis was on phase transitions in liquid crystals. Re: Free from sleep apnea

Good for you!

Makes quite the case for bariatric surgery being covered by insurance: less weight = less sleep apnea = less strokes, diabetes, et al.!

Answer: Heartache and pain.

But, not when you use online suppliers like CPAP.COM.

But my insurance will not pay for stuff bought on line. So it ends up paying more than twice the price. Go figure!

Re: What to expect from my CPAP equipment supplier

Yes that was how it went for me in Montreal too except that I was to call the specialist after I had been on machine for a month.[/quote]

Blackspinner, may I ask where you ended up going to buy your material and get decent service? And what do they do for you other than sell you thing?

Thank you.

Re: What to expect from my CPAP equipment supplier

Thank you for all your answers. I am glad I walked out. I really got the feeling they were not on the ball. Re. chosing suppliers, and even testing, this is how it went here, in Québec: my GP sent me to the pneumologist who sent me to a particular sleep testing lab. The lab only does testing, it doe...

What to expect from my CPAP equipment supplier

Last Friday I went to order my CPAP, mask, etc. but came out wondering if this was the place I wanted to buy them from. When I called to make my appointment a week a go and sent in my Rx, they told me I could get the Resmed 10 for her, no problem. They also told me that I wouldn't need to pay out of...

Re: CPAPs vs SAD lights for energy level

I think I'm understanding correctly that you used a machine at home for 2-3 weeks for titration. Are you still using that machine while you wait for another one? There is so much left unsaid. What we don't know is if the settings on the machine were optimal for you, how well your sleep apnea was tr...
