Re: Mask Cleaning/Drying

This is my personal routine.....I do not clean anything on a daily basis. I wipe down my mask with baby wipes every night and wash it once a month. I never clean or rinse my hose. I rarely rinse my humidifier tank and I top it off with distilled water every 2 nights. This has been my routine for ov...

Re: Mask Cleaning/Drying

What do you guys consider necessary daily cleaning? Do I need to dump & clean the humidifier tank daily, or can I use the leftover water the next night? Do I need to clean the hose and the mask assembly every day, or just the nasal pillows? Can I just leave the whole setup as is for 2 nights in a ro...

Sleep Position vs. Nasal Pillows vs. FFM

I'm trying out both types of masks (both with chin strap). With full face mask, I think I'm sleeping for longer periods, and I wake up with less congestion and throat not as sore. BUT if I sleep on my side, it leaks. And I feel more claustrophobic. And I HATE IT. I definitely prefer the nasal pillow...

Re: Newbie sore throat, stuffed-up ears & sinuses

Do you have epr? I don't think so -- EPR™ (expiratory pressure relief) -- I just read ResMed's description, and I don't really understand it. So I used the stupid full-face mask (plus chin strap) last night, and was less congested this morning. But I also think I woke up more often, not sure why. T...

Re: Newbie sore throat, stuffed-up ears & sinuses

Many of the users who use mostly nasal masks typically have full face masks for when they get colds and need to breathe through their mouths. There are a few "die-hards" who don't , but they're in the minority. Aww, come on guys...I can't be the ONLY one who doesn't own a full face mask. Maybe I ne...

Re: Newbie sore throat, stuffed-up ears & sinuses

Ugh, I also have a face mask for the trial period. I guess I better try that again if I'm still mouth-breathing. I'll try turning down the humidity. Doc said the chin strap is because my jaw drops open every time I start to go into REM. I don't know if it was supposed to also stop my mouth-breathing...

Newbie sore throat, stuffed-up ears & sinuses

Hi, I've been using my new CPAP for a week & a half. Heat is up to 5 (the max) and humidity is up to 3 (the max). I like the nasal pillows much better than the face mask I tried 15 years ago (and gave up). The chin strap, nasal pillows, and heated humidity have made it possible for me to breathe thr...
