Sleepyhead 9.8 "...dll missing"

Post by AfibApnea » Wed Oct 15, 2014 2:09 pm

I downloaded Sleepyhead 9.8; unzipped the file; and ran SleepyHead-OpenGL.exe (my NVDIA GEFORCE GT 730 card supports OpenGL).

I get the message "The program can't start because MSVCR 120.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

What should I do?

Thanks

you should read, thoroughly, the thread announcing the availability of the new version.

your subject is covered in there.

I had the same problem and went back to the post anouncing the release. There is ref to needing to update the c++ library and a link. I tried several of the downlpoads but never got rid of the problem.

I am running windows 7, and ended up using the 32 bit version, it ran without any problems.

That may be the easiest solution.

From original thread found here viewtopic/t101108/SleepyHead-0981-Testing-Builds.html

MSVCR120.dll is not workstation.
Corrected by downloading vcredist_x64.exe file from:

At this link http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=40784 after clicking on Download button

Middle choice worked for me vcredist_x64.exe... on my Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit computer

I would like to download the SH 9.8 upgrade version. I went to Pugsy signature link(?) The message is ' no download available '. Do you know when it will become available for download again? Earlier this month I downloaded the 9.6 version which I found out is the wrong upgrade version. My memory is not so good but I thought that RobySue also had a link for downloading. Is that the case? I really appreciate any help.

My link didn't work for you? I just now tested it and it works
http://sleepfiles.com/SH/index.html?TestingVersions
This is the download link in my signature line
Maybe computer gremlin...try again.
I even clicked on the windows version and got the usual download prompt.
Robysue's stuff is on the apneaboard.
If you still can't get the link to download to work tell me exactly what your computer is...OS..bits, etc and I will figure out a way to get it to you.

If you're using NoScript, you need to enable javascript for that page.

This is what I get when I try to download the v 9.8 version:

SleepyHead OpenSource CPAP Review Software

SleepyHead is a free, cross-platform, open-source research tool for exploring data produced by CPAP machines, and related equipment, which are used in the treatment of sleep apnea and other sleep disorders.

SleepyHead supports * data capable * CPAP machine models from the following series:
ResMed S9, Philips Respirioncs System One, Fisher & Paykel ICON and Devilbiss Intellipap.

As of 0.9.8, SleepyHead works with the full range of Contec CMS50 series of Oximeters (and clones, like Pulox) either standalone or synced with CPAP data.

SleepyHead also supports ResMed and PRS1 oximeter attachments, and file import from ChoiceMMed MD300W1 oximeters.

Pssst.. Looking for newer testing versions? Then click here!

Here are some wiki instructions for Building SleepyHead from Source.

Note: SleepyHead is still a work in progress, and some functionality may not work as intended.

Very Important Warning

ALWAYS write protect CPAP data cards before inserting them into your computer.

Certain operating systems write index/cache files to the card without asking, and this could lead to data corruption, making your card unreadable by your cpap machine.

SleepyHead is read only, and is definitely not the cause of this issue!

If you encounter problems with this software, please ensure you are running the latest version before reporting bugs to SleepyHeads bug tracker on SourceForge.

----- The copy looks different than what I see when I go to the link but this is what copied over. I have Windows 7 and a HP All-In-One PC and I think its a 64 bit (? - not sure where to retrieve that info). Any suggestions for me to try? I'm not sure what a 'no script' means as per Archangel poster and I'm not being asked when I try to download v9.8 about it.

Thanks for trying to help. It didn't work out but the reason is probably due to an error that I'm getting with Adobe Reader. It is not recognizing the download due to 'wrong file' type error. I still have V 9.3 so I can continue to use that until I can get the Adobe Reader program repaired. I do like the V 9.6 visuals. It's crisp and clean looking. For now, I will live with V 9.3.

adobe reader, or for that matter, adobe anything has *nothing* whatsoever to do with sleepyhead.

What you say is probably true except that my computer apparently points to Adobe reader when I download V9.8 for some reason. The thing I also noticed is that when I downloaded V9.6 (on 10/3/14) which has all the problems with the hour, etc., I ended up with a 'zipped' folder Icon in the area where the downloads on my pc reside. The interesting thing is V9.8 didn't give me a 'zip' folder but it gave me an Adobe Reader Icon and lists V9.8 as the file within that Icon. However, when I click on it, Adobe pops up the message I talked about in my earlier post.

Another thing, as far as the other apnea board goes, I haven't posted there in maybe two years or so and don't remember my user name or password. I'm blocked out of the site as far as downloading any links from RobySue's signature line. Pugsy had made an earlier comment about that. Perhaps I ended up being linked to RobySue in some way when I was working with downloading V 9.6 from this apnea board or, I'm not remembering exactly what happened.

I'm actually been having problems with Adobe Reader as related to other things I'm doing on the pc in addition to Sleepy Head. So for now, I'll let updating Sleepy Head stay on a back-burner for now.

Give me a little bit and let me see if I can come up with something that will bypass your difficulties.
Look for a private message from me in a little bit if I can get my idea done.

for some reason you've mistakenly got your computer configured to open .7z files with adobe reader, (which is wrong)

you need to download and install 7zip, from 7-zip.org to open the archive that 0.9.8-1 is contained in.
