Winx Mouthpiece Noise

Post by Tried_It_All » Sun Oct 12, 2014 2:07 pm

I've been using the Winx system for over a month now. I've been fairly happy with it. My wife tells me that I don't snore when using it, even on my back. I recently did an ambulatory study with it and am still waiting for the results. Other than the early acclimation issues, the only thing that really bothers me is that it periodically makes a gurgling sound in my mouth, which is loud enough to wake me. When it happens, I can never get back to sleep unless I just take it out for the rest of the night. I don't know what causes this - too much saliva, too little saliva, position of tongue...? I've tried every trick that I can think of to make it stop, but have never been successful getting rid of the noise once it starts gurgling. It never happens when I first put it in to go to sleep, only sometimes during the middle of the night. Has anyone else had this experience? If so, are there any tricks to getting the noise to stop?

I have exactly the same issue. Wish I could tell you that I have found a solution but I haven't. I also wear a head strap because I have a tendency to sleep with my mouth open. I have been trying to adjust it differently to see if that solves the problem. If so I will post it.

Since this is a cpap forum, you are not likely to get many responses.
