Help! - Large leaks over 50% of the night

Post by Jason S. » Mon Sep 29, 2014 1:44 pm

I have tried two different FF masks now with same results. AHI over 5.0 each night and 40-50% of the night is large leaks. I am clean shaven. What can be done to stem the leaks? I am not getting good therapy. Thanks in advance.

Are you washing your face really clean before putting on the mask? The face needs to be clean to perfect the seal.

You may have to look into liners. PadaCheck offers reasonably priced liners for the mask.

I wish you well

You might have to try a third FF mask or try mask liners...they usually help.

Also how old are the cushions on your masks? They may need replaced. Did they always leak on you?

Any specific reason you're using an FFM? Are you a side sleeper?

Make sure that you don't have any holes somewhere in the circuit....like in the hose or a bad connection.
Just in case.....
Sorry, can't help with full face mask fitting...never used one.
If you want to try a nasal pillow mask for grins...I have one you can have...new and unused. They are so much easier to get to seal and stay sealed.
If you can't ever breathe only through your nose though...won't help you.
