What information do you think you'll get from a data-less "brick"?

Your machine only records "hours used". That's it!

Sleepyhead was correct.

No software can read meaningful data because that machine does not moitor or capture anything but complience data.

As Den said you've got a brick.

If you just recently acquired it you should exchange it as sonn as posible for a PRS1 560TS auto with full data capability.

So I just called the at home care provider and we argued back and forth about this machine. He said that there is no need to track as long as it works and I said it was not making me feel like it did when I got it (a month ago). He said that the reason is sleep debt. I said how do I know if I am still snoring and cannot see any episodes. He said he has another machine Resmed Airsince (sp). Then he proceeded to talk about how the insurance will only give him so much money no matter what machine he gives! No wonder he gives out bricks!
Thanks for the replies!

The Resmed Airsense 10 AUTO is a great machine especially if you get the "for her" model which includes a new mode of operation that may help anyone.
I believe the new A10 may also offer a brick so be sure you get the Auto model. It has full data.

And yes the insurance has one price for all CPAP/APAP machines and the difference in cost goes straight to the DMEs bottom line. Who care if the patient is getting proper therapy. You have a lot of nerve expecting that when it impairs their profit.

Right! They put more importance in their bottom line than in your therapy. It's that simple. Too many of them don't give a rat's behind if you get frustrated and quit your therapy as long as they get their money from your insurance provider. This is the dirty secret about the people who distribute the equipment (DMEs......"Determined Money Extractors").
I also strongly recommend strong-arming those folks to get them to exchange your "brick" for a good, fully-data-capable machine. They get paid the exact same amount for a CPAP machine (insurance code-E0601) regardless of whether it's a bottom-of-the-line or a top-of-the-line.

Nobody is going to care more about YOUR therapy then YOU. Take control of it NOW.

EDIT: If they start trying to give you a bunch of "gobbledegook" about other models and you aren't sure, don't accept one until you've checked with the folks on the forum or done your own homework.

The new AirSense line of ResMed machines are NOT compatible with SleepyHead just yet but Mark is working on making SleepyHead compatible.
We can still get you ResScan software though (don't tell the DME about it) as long as you have a Windows computer.
ResScan doesn't offer a Mac compatible software version.

Right now there are 3 different new ResMed AirSense models...I don't know model numbers or where the model names are shown on the machine but typically model names are easily seen.

There is the AirSense 10 CPAP machine...that's all it says as far as I know....this one is the brick equivalent to your Respironics SE model.
Normally the words....Elite or AutoSet are easily seen on the machines.

The full efficacy data machines are these in the new AirSense line
The AirSense 10 Elite
The AirSense AutoSet
The AirSense AutoSet for her....this one is like the "plain" autoset except it has an additional auto adjusting mode that they are promoting to help women since they say that women breathe differently. I don't know how much it really matters or not but to my way of thinking it shouldn't be just for women and it's better to have something and not need it than need it and not have it.

Knowing how some DMEs think...you will be lucky to get the Elite which is a straight cpap machine...the AutoSets cost more.

Just wanted to let you know Pugsy, that The Resmed Airsense 10 AUTO cpap does work with the latest SleepyHead software. This Software is GREAT! What I like is it lets you check how you did daily. As far as I know, my machine only lets me see how I did on a accumulative stats....until I import data into SleepyHead....and poof, now I can see my daily report. If anyone knows how to activate a daily stats on machine, please let me know...Thanks.

Yes...I know that Sleepyhead now works with the AirSense machines...at the time I wrote that response in late September SleepyHead didn't yet have a version that worked with these new machines.
It wasn't long after that when Mark released the latest version on Oct 3 that works.

there's no such thing as an airsense 10 auto cpap.

there's the airsense 10 cpap, which is a dataless brick, and there's the airsense 10 autoset, which is a full data auto machine.
