Airplane Mode

Post by Brown.shirleymae » Mon Sep 22, 2014 5:42 am

I need help resetting my CPAP. My machine will occasionally revert to airplane mode. How this happens is a mystery to me. could it be a power surge, power failure, or simply an accidental turning of the dial? At any rate I don't have the time to drive 50 miles to the nearest SleepMed to have it reset. They told me last time that it had to be done by a service person. This does not sound logical to me. Please...I need an answer. Thankyou for your help.

I am assuming you have a modem to report your data back to the DME or sleep Dr and it is ending up in Airplane mode?

If you are not providing data to the DME or Sleep Dr, you shouldn't need the modem to be active.

To provide any kind of help, you should add the equipment you are using to your profile so that someone familiar with that equipment can help.

Please show what the display says, and what function is affected.
Is there a modem?

On the F&P Icon models (what I think the poster is referring too) there is a setting called "Flight Mode"......in this mode the humidifier draws much less power so that you can use the cpap on an Airplane in a reduced energy mode so it doesn't draw as much power. It is not recommended to run the machine at home in normal use in this "Flight Mode". It is indicated by a little airplane symbol on the screen. To turn it off rotate the smart dial to User Preferences (Settings) indicated by the little wrench icon and push the dial in to get into the settings menu.....now rotate the dial to the Flight Mode setting which is the little airplane symbol and push the dial to enter that setting.........now turn the dial to off indicated by an "X" and then push the dial in again so the machine accepts that entry. You should now notice on the home screen that the little Airplane symbol is not showing. That is all I can figure by the poster's description......if that is not what she means then disregard, but I am pretty sure that's it as I have not heard of any of these machines with a built in modem, pretty sure she is referring to the Flight Mode.

If you get a chance let us know if that was the fix to your Flight Mode problem, or did I miss the mark?
