Re: If I never have another sleep study it will be too soon
Did anyone ever get a good sleep study? Mine went off without a hitch. The Tech was kind, courteous, and very professional. I was scheduled for a split study, but after hooking me up to all the wires, and administering the sleeping pill (I don't take sleeping pills at home so the durn thing knocked...

Re: Humidifier reaction
Interesting problem. It makes me wonder if the increased humidity might be interfering with oxygen intake in the lungs. I have no medical evidence, but I having COPD I have noticed my O2 blood levels dropping a few points on rainy days, and more trouble thinking clearly on those same rainy days. Per...

Re: Importance of Sleep Study Nurse (Theory)
Most men would rather have a "Hot Mama" tuck them in for the night, than a "hairy ape". Are you sure she didn't mistakenly give you a Viagra in place of the sleeping pill? You do know that the entire sleep event was recorded for posterity on video... See you on Youtube..

Re: Airsense 10 Humidifier Tank Running Dry
Running out of water during sleep has been discussed in several threads. This happens more in the dry cold winter, than in the humid summer. There have been a couple of good solutions dealing with the PR system one. The first used an add on humidifier to increase water capacity. http://www.cpaptalk....

Re: Sleep Apnea - Can your Drivers License be revoked??
I am not aware of any state that suspends non commercial driver's licenses for non compliance, but I would not be surprised if some of the states start doing so.
Untreated sleep apnea is not only a danger to the sufferer, but also to every driver on the road.

Re: Working on a project and new to the forum
Flightco Did you ever test the tank and hose for infection before it went thru the soclean? I'm not trying to berate the product, just curious as to how infected the tank and hose can get. I understand the mask being filled with germs, but wonder about the tank and hose. I have heard of slime molds ...

Another person trying to profit off our sickness. Someone needs to say it !!! Trying to profit off your sickness, or trying to make it easier to work thru the difficulties associated with it? It depends on your point of view. I suppose the inventor of the cpap machine was also lambasted for his/her...

Re: New to cpap having dry mouth issues
I have fought this problem ever since starting on cpap therapy. Have tried just about everything, but I still have to keep water beside the bed. I have come to the conclusion that some of us have an anatomy that, when combined with pressurized air is more prone to drying out. I have also noticed tha...

Re: Facebook Adverts
There are commercials on tv advertising beds that you can raise that will stop snoring. It may or may not work (i can snore badly while vertical). But it also may lead people to go many years undiagnosed because they think they are fine. There are also anti-snoring pillows. I have seen ads on craig...

Re: Slime in humidifier chamber
Slime, Slime, everywhere some slime
lives in my machinery,
messing with my mind.
Clean this,
don't clean that
Cant you see the slime?
The Slime..
Sorry, I couldn't resist.. Hope the song doesn't get stuck in your head..

Re: Pressure loss with heater/humidifier
I don't know much about your machine, but I would first check for leaks around the seals. Also Sleepyhead data can provided some clues to if this is a leak or an obstruction. There should not be a reduction in pressure because a humidifier is installed.

I don't know about your machine, but if the lid on the PR system one did not fit properly it would definitely effect the leak rate. A rubber seal is between the lid and tank...

Re: Sleep
I think most people have good nights and bad nights of sleep, especially as we age. We look to cpap for the miracle cure, when in fact it is just bringing us back to the same ability to sleep as a person who does not suffer with sleep apnea. Good sleep hygiene is essential i.e. no caffeine before sl...
