Mask Change? Then problems

Post by gavinpreacher » Fri Sep 19, 2014 2:08 pm

After many months of so-so therapy with my mask, one of the pieces broke, it was the par of the whisp mask the covers my nose. i called the company i use and they sent me a new one, but the piece they sent was much too big and i could not get a proper seal. i called again and asked for a smaller piece and they said they did not have one, but suggested i try nasal pillows instead, which i did. the pillows are a big flop, and now i am getting not a wink of sleep again.

during conversation with another friend, he brought to my attention that maybe i am a mout breather. he asked if i wake up with dry mouth, which i do, and scratchy throat, which i also do. he suggested that i need to go ahead and try a full face mask set-up, that way i get the air even if i open my mouth. so i called my company and they said i need to get fitted for one. the place is too far away and i can not get there to get fitted for that particular mask. is there a place i can buy a full face mask from and a way i can do it without having to go and get fitted. or, in the interim, is there a place where i can get the proper sized piece to cover my nose for my old whisp mask?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks all

greg

I am unsure of what you are talking about in regards to the Wisp part that broke and the replacement was too big but you can buy parts for it online....depending on the part. You don't need a RX to buy a replacement part.
Were you talking about the cushion? They come in different sizes.

Full face masks come in a variety of sizes so picking one without trying it on is a gamble unless you using the fitting guides that some of them have.

You might check out EBay
Large size seems to be pretty popular but I found this one for $12.00
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replacement-Res ... 6#shpCntId
Last one at that price.
Some of the others have already sold out of the Large. Some of the other run around $20.
