Just received a shipment from Lincare for some supplies I ordered. I was due for a frame, tubing, and a cushion. I ordered these and received a Resmed frame with a cushion in the same sealed bag, a separate cushion, and an obviously after market tubing from "AG Industries." The tubing I initially received in the office several months ago was genuine Resmed and was billed as A7037 at an inflated charge of 54.13. My insurance negotiated a write off of 13.30, ins paid 32.66, I paid 8.17 because my deductible was paid up.
While I am not opposed to using the generic tubing (healthcare is disgustingly expensive in 'Merica), I fully expect they will bill me/my insurance the exact same A7037 code and amount for tubing they probably paid 99 cents for in bulk. The disingenuous part is they get all of the savings and bill me for the same product.
From reading the forum, I know that some folks have had to resort to their provider writing for a specific data capable model with DO NOT SUBSTITUTE on the order. Would this sort of order force Lincare to provide me with genuine Resmed/PR parts?
Following up with Lincare on my next day off.
Thanks,
Filovirus

Maybe, it's worth a try.
Crapria has started doing that, too. I'm going without the white find filters because the junk they provide now causes the intake to make a horrible sound. Filters are cheap, so screw them. I'll buy my own from now on.

Do you actually know which manufacturer makes the products for ResMed or PR? I doubt that they actually make them themselves. I don't know for sure, but like many other products, they may be made by someone else to the specifications of the company which has their name put on them.
Could you "prove" that the other supplies are actually "inferior" to the "OEM" supplies?

Re: Lincare Non-OEM tubing/Aftermarket Supplies
I have no way to know whether they are reputable or not. When I ordered, I requested Resmed Slimline tubing specifically and did not get what I ordered. Again, I am not opposed to using non-oem to save money. Just bill my insurance for less and save me money too. Something tells me they do not see this the way I do.Wulfman... wrote:Personally, I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.filovirus wrote:Just received a shipment from Lincare for some supplies I ordered. And as far as knowing who Resmed contracts to manufacture their tubing, I would love to know, but I do not.
