2 weeks in - salivary gland problem

Post by pranayama » Tue Sep 16, 2014 12:22 am

Reporting in about 2 weeks after starting CPAP tx. I'm tolerating process well, and sleep doc happy with compliance. Have script to try nasal pillow mask. My sleepiness / exhaustion has increased despite 8 hours sleep a night and daily naps. Went to my PCP today for sore mouth and painful sub-manibular swelling. She thinks I have salivary gland stone. Put me on antibiotic, and gave referral to ENT doc. She suspects irritation from CPAP tx may be cause. I did have dry mouth first few days, now seems okay.
On a positive note, once this problem clears up, maybe I'll move closer to the ever elusive RESTED state.
PS Even when I don't have time to read or post, I feel better knowing this community is here.

You might want to check for air leaks out of your mouth. Do you have the SleepyHead program? It will show leaks.
